Description

Offering For Sale: 1983 Datsun by Nissan 280ZX 2+2 Coupe L28 S130 Grand Luxury model with T-Tops; color code#101/Nugget Gold Metallic.
Originally purchased from Crown Datsun in St. Petersburg, FL, this vehicle has always been in Florida.
This Datsun 280ZX has 82,226 actual miles, documented with service/maintenance/repair records.
All maintenance has been meticulously performed within the manufacturer’s recommended periods.
This Datsun is a pleasure to drive. Believe me. This vehicle has been garage-kept for most of her life and driven daily, by me, for the past 1.5 years. I’m not talking a 10-minute drive around the block either. My TRUE daily driver. My only form of transportation. and it’s been a fine, fine ride . I am a responsible driver, but I do like to drive f a s t . on the highway . for extended periods of time . bliss . Most of the vintage Z’s for sale on Ebay are showroom-show-ponies. They look fabulous, but they don’t deliver on the road. (As Kid Rock once said: ‘It ain’t braggin’ if you can m**. ** back it up.)
Options on this vehicle include: A/C, Cruise Control, Electronic Voice Warning System, AM/FM/Cassette player, Power Brakes, Velour Interior, performance radial tires, independent suspension, and factory aluminum road wheels — considered to be the single rarest option for these vehicles. The paint on the car is the original paint and is in very good condition, especially for a vehicle that is 34 years old. The paint shows just a few minor imperfections and minor stone chips to the front nose, as one might expect for a 34 year old vehicle.
The weather-stripping around the t-tops needs to be replaced, although there have been no water/rain leaks. There is a small amount of corrosion near weather-stripping frame of the t-tops — about the size of a nickel. (See Photos.) There is a 6”x2” piece of black body side molding on the passenger side, rear panel, that is missing.
The tires were replaced in 2016 with brand new Raised White Letters, BF Goodrich Radials, P205/70R14 — very 1980’s, love it or not.
In 2016, a new radiator was installed, radiator hoses, cap, thermostat, and gasket replaced, transmission cooler lines replaced, transmission gasket and filter replaced, new spark plugs installed, new battery installed, and new fuel filter. Air filter was replaced in 2016 with a K&N Air filter.
Under the hood, the inline 6 cylinder runs great and is all stock and original. The Fuel Injectors were replaced in 2017. Most of the hoses and hose clamps were replaced with EFI hoses and EFI clamps in 2017.
I have only used non-ethanol 80 octane fuel in this vehicle; however, the vehicle will operate using unleaded fuel.
There are no oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid or coolant leaks.
The rack and pinion steering was replaced in 2017.
MacPherson struts added in 2017, along with lower ball joints, strut bearings, sway bar links, brake pads and rotors.
Both front and rear bumpers are in very good condition.
The under carriage is clean and strong.
The interior is all original stock and is in good condition. The velour seats, (front and rear) are in good condition with all seat controls in working condition and no rips, tears or stains. The carpet and floor matts are original and do show wear and tear — pretty much what you would expect from a 34 year old vehicle.
The dashboard does have a small crack. (Please see photos.) The headliner was replaced in 2016. There is a tear in the vinyl liner located on the driver’s side, rear-portion corner of the hatchback/trunk area. (Please see photos.)
The original AM/FM/Cassette Stereo with original speakers sounds great. (I learned to live without Bluetooth technology. It’s really not that bad.) The cassette tape player only needs replacement pinch rollers and belts, which I was able to obtain, and will include, along with replacement instructions, in the sale of the vehicle, in order for it to play cassettes. (If you don’t have any cassette tapes, I will be happy to discuss selling you one or two of mine.)
All electrical components, including the voice warning system for the ‘fuel’, ‘lamps on’, and ‘door open’, are in working condition. (On the Z forums, the Electronic Voice Warning System is referred to as Bitchin’ Betty. I’m not making this up.)
The A/C blows cold and works great. There was an R34 conversion done to the A/C system, as is documented under the hood. The condenser and compressor were replaced in 2016.
This vehicle is being sold under a clean Florida Title.
~ On a personal note, it is with mixed feelings that I am offering this Datsun for sale. It has been my daily driver for the past 1.5 years; never failing to start or perform like the champion that she is. I am not the original owner, however, she has been lovingly and meticulously cared for by myself and her previous two owners. I believe that is well represented in the photos.
This vehicle books out in NADA Classic car book at Average Retail book value at $10,800 and High Retail book value of $21,600.
SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY PLEASE. I am selling the car in AS IS condition with no warranty and NO return will be accepted. Please ask questions before you bid. Bad Karma is not something to be messed with.
