Description

1970 Datsun SLR 2000 ( Fairlady ) Barn Find

Car is complete and mostly solid with the exception to minor surface rust. The rust marks on the hood are only surface level. It looks worse in the photos then it actually is. There are only 2 areas on the car that I have seen that show complete rust through, they are only pin holesand those areshown in the photos. I don't have a lift to get up under the car, but I did try to show one picture of the undercarriage, again, its all just surface rust, no frame rot or rust through on the floor pans.

The engine spins freely, but has not been started in years.

Here's the story on it....a friend of mine, had a friend who was the previous owner of this car. He was a machinist by trade and very meticulous about the mechanicals of his toys. This being one of many. This car was in tip-top shape when he parked it in the barn, due to health issues, about 16 years ago. Sadly he passed away. He left the car in his will to my friend, who didn't have anywhere to put the car and knew at 70 years old, he'd never get around to fixing it back up. So he grudgingly decided to sell it. That's where I got involved. He doesn't like dealing with people much and doesn't use eBay and that internet stuff. He's still using a flip phone. So I agreed to list it for him. The widow needed it out of her barn, so we had it towed over to my house, so I could store it in my garage, just long enough to get it sold. I was going to clean it up and get it running but I don't have much time either, so here it is.... the widow could never find the keys and we didn't want to press her too much for them, so there are no keys with the car. The trunk is locked, so that part is a mystery... who knows, maybe there's a pot of gold in there or maybe just a bunch of rust & cob webs, either way, you're getting it as-is.

Disclaimer - Idon't know much at all about old Datsun's. I'mnot a professional, an expert nor amechanic, but I will domy best to honestly describe the condition of the car & answer all your questions. If you need ten thousand pictures or videos, then please just come see the car in person. I'm not spending allot of my time on this. Not to be rude, my time is just limited and the reserve is low to sell quick b/c I need it out of my garage ASAP.
