The closer you get the better this Z looks! All original.
If you are looking for a rust free, original 280z this is it. Blue plate California all option 280z 2 plus 2. Factory air (and it works), 5 speed, leatherette (much better than the vinyl) . The odometer reads 54,951. I believe it to be original miles. The way the seats, weather stripping, engine compartment and pretty much the whole car is untouched it looks to be a very low mileage last year made 280z.
No rust, interior is near flawless, Seats have no tears. Chrome is excellent as is rubber on bumpers. Original paint, has been touched up and clear coat on top and hood repainted. Garaged all its life. I removed cheap hub caps and have ordered and will include with sale original hub caps.
The rear storage compartment is home to a factory spare, jack and wheel chock kit. The blower fan works and air conditioning is equipped and blows ice cold air. Power is from a fuel-injected 2.8-liter L28 straight six that received new fuel and other basic freshening including new tires, new spark plugs, new oil filter and oil and new air filter after the car was recently pulled from storage. The engine exhibits no issues on cold or warm starts and to run well without undue noises. The engine bay light remains functional despite a broken lense. The brake light comes on occasionally and the cap to brake master cylinder may be the cause since it does not secure tight.
Front disc and rear drum brakes are power assisted. The underside and wheel wells show well and are solid. The undercarriage is solid and is original.
The last year this wonderful Z was tested and passed smog in California was in 2012. If buyer is in California I will smog car.
This is the last year for the 280z. Manufactured in Feb. 1978. Drives smooth, shifts great. Currently non-op. No late fees etc.
Call or text for more photos I have 100+ photos.

I recently added photos of underside of Z. Original exhaust system except for muffler. Newer fuel pump. Small bubbles on dog legs behind doors. The underside has not been crushed or pushed up due to improper use of jack. Later today or tomorrow I should be getting original 1978 280Z hubcaps. When I do I will upload photos of car with hubcaps on it. All systems work except for clock- headlights, tail lights, turn signals, horn, interior lights, seat belt buzzer. A/C blows cold air, fan works. All gauges work, speedo is about 4-5mph fast and tach revs up to just a bit over 4,000 rpm then seems to stick a little. I think its an electrical connection and will look into it. Brake warning light blinks on occasionally, the master cylinder cap does not screw down tight and is most likely the issue.
Reserve price is low and I will be available to send video of car running and me driving it.

In answering a few questions I looked up some unique things about 1978 280z 5 speeds. The gross hp is rated at 170hp. Fuel tank is the largest of the Zs at 17.2 gallons. The total production run of 1978 280z 2+2 is 110,001 through 124,742. Very few came with 5 speeds and factory A/C. How many are low milage survivors would be even less. Rare car.
