1972 Datsun 240Z Matching Numbers, 133K miles, Barn Find, BRE
Description
I am a Datsun guy. I bought this car as a Father and son restoration project. I searched around for a while to get this specific car. I wanted a 1972 with A/C in #112 Yellow,(lemon lime yellow) my son and I love the color. I was planning on a frame off restoration for the car. (My son and I are working on a newer Nissan instead).I chose a 1972 because, some of us Datsun 240Z guys feel that they will be the most valuable in the long run. The 1972, has items that the early cars don't have. The cars have a stronger chassis that is galvanized metal, the seats are adjustable and can flip forward, the car also has cubby style storage compartments. The easiest comparison is to look at the value of the 1965 vs 1967 Corvettes. The 1967 Corvette has all the refinements that the early cars didn't have, making it more desirable to drive, and enjoy. Hence the higher value of the cars!I have spent over 3K on this car in the last 3 weeks at a professional high line shop. I would have no problem climbing in this car and driving it as a daily. Car starts up and runs smooth. I have all receipts for work and parts.
