This 1962 Datsun 1200 L320 pickup has been meticulously restored by previous owner. Lots of documentation. Mileage is 83,338. Low production number- It was number 237 off the production line in 1962. This really rare and well restored vehicle should be in a private collection or museum, it's that good and important historically. It runs and drives as good as it looks. The pictures speak for themselves. In 1959 previous owner Henry Martin visited Japan while taking a break from his NSA (National Security Agency) assignment in Korea. He shares as follows:"I noticed all these pretty, cute, economical Datsuns on the streets of Tokyo. I was particularly impressed with their overlapping framing construction. After being discharged from the Army in early 1962 and accepting my father's invitation to return to my hometown and become involved in the family's Studebaker and Mercedes Benz dealership, I encouraged my father to consider adding Datsun to the lineup. Before long our first green Datsun 1200 L320 pickup arrived from the warehouse in Portland, Oregon. Little did we know how popular the Datsun would become over the next 27 years we operated the dealership- "Auto Martin Ltd." After taking that very first pickup in trade three times, I decided to take it off the lot and keep it in the family. In 2004 a complete restoration began, collecting parts from as far away as Australia (for the front and rear window seals), the Netherlands and British Columbia." Mrs. Martin shared: "It has been a fond vehicle in his collection. All our family have enjoyed it as a favorite. We even hired a professional photographer to take family photos and the "Green Beauty" was the centerpiece!"Shipping is buyer's responsibility.
