Description

Unfortunately I have too many toys and must decide which ones to keep. I've driven this car much less than I would have liked in the years I've owned it. It needs to go to someone who will enjoy it and drive it often. Every time I do get to drive it, I decide it's my favorite (again) and something else has to go. Of all my Z cars, this one has been my favorite. I'm in the middle of restoring a one owner 1973 240Z and need the room and cash to finish it.
This 280Z was built from the ground up by a Z car enthusiast to use as a daily driver. Engine and transmission (5 speed), had a fresh rebuild when I purchased it from him. It also has Tokico struts and springs, good looking wheels and tires. I had it freshly painted in the BMW Green (Mallard Head Green) that was already on it when I bought it. This paint is one that changes color in different light. The seats are from a Mazda and much more comfortable than the originals. Overall interior is a 9 of a possible 10. Exterior with the fresh paint is at least a 9 out of 10. The mechanicals are a solid 9 out of 10. The only issues with the vehicle are a crack in the dash cover, and some minor blemishes in the paint from car cover rash. Of course, the clock does not work.
Z car people know this model as the one that morphed from a bare bones sports car to one with some luxury built in. Factory A/C, fuel injection, and shock absorbing front and rear bumpers are the major changes made to the car. It's still fast, maneuverable and looks good too.
This car is clean, dependable and a blast to drive. I'm pretty sure the previous owner kept it garaged. I have also kept it inside since owning it. As with all early Z cars, it had some rust issues, but I think we found and repaired everything when it got the latest paint job. This car will make a great daily driver or, with just a little attention to detail, a competitive show car.
