Rare Historical 1981 DeLorean DMC-12

Description

This is one of the first 100 DeLoreans ever produced (VINs 500 to 599). These had a very special place in DMC history and are highly sought after by DeLorean collectors, rarely coming up for sale. Additionally, it was one of about 90 company cars, sold to Chestnut Fleet Rentals and leased back to DeLorean Motor Company to provide a source of early funding, and arrived in the US on the first shipment from Dunmurry, Ireland. It was test driven along the east coast (documentation to this effect included with sale) and issues reported were corrected and also shared with the factory to correct during the manufacture of later cars.
This is a second-owner car, and maintenance records from both owners are included. In 2013, a professional frame-off nut-and-bolt restoration was completed at 4641 miles. Restoration photobook and extensive documentation from original owner also included in sale. The car now has under 9500 original miles.
