. The grille teeth are great! . And there he is, the namesake of the Marque, Hernando De Soto, as shown on the hood ornament! . And the DeSoto coat of arms, as interpreted by the Chrysler Corporation. . The paint is older, same with the chrome - this car looks like it was done in the 1970's. It's a good, solid car, but it would need to have some freshening in a variety of areas to be show or tour ready. We just did the entire brake hydraulic system - master cylinder, hoses, and wheel cylinders and turned the drums so it can be driven. The engine runs great, and the fluid drive transmission works, but sometimes hesitates to go into 3'd high range. . The seats are nicely done in vynil and cloth. . Here's the back seat and top boot. . The dashboard is in good shape. The carpeting is wor, and needs to be replaced. . Decent looking doorpanels. The handle escutcheon plastic is deteriorated. . Another view of the dash . The oil pressure and temp gauges work. Gas guage, fuel gauge and speedometer do not. . That's a cool looking radio control, but it's not making any noise. . Driver's doorpanel . The mighty 237 Cubic inch, 120 horsepower 6 cylinder engine! The engine runs really well - smooth, quiet, great oil pressure. Starts right away every time. I like it! Big original oil bath air cleaner. . Radiator and horns . All original and solid sheetmetal underneath. I could not find any signs of patching or rust repair, it looks really good underneath. . Nice and crisp sheetmetal, this is the lower right side rear fender edge. Photo taken while the wheels were off for new brake hydraulics. . Here's the right front inner fender - again, nice and sharp. . Engine and transmission. reasonably clean, looks pretty dry. . Here it is with the top up. . The top is older, - useable as-is, but replace it if you want it to be sharper . Some wear spots showing on the top. . Trunk, with spare, jack base, top boot, car cover bag and horn ring that requires restoration. . Peel that carpet back, and it's really nice and solid in there! This car has a huge advantage in that it's obviously been in a dry climate, and is nice and solid. . I like a rust free car! . Nice inner trunk lid . A great looking and rare car .
