Description

Here is an Excellent Chance to own a great Driving 1949 Desoto Woody. These cars were the most expensive Woody available. Its the only year for the Scalloped rear tailgate that is cut out to open the spare tire compartment. The rear bumper has a release on each side and folds down to allow access to the spare .Vintage 1950's surf rack and surfboard included. Perfect car to use now for cruising, shows, weddings or special events!
It runs and drives excellently..I would describe it as an older restoration with not rips or tears in the interior seats or headliner. The chrome is above average, the electrical is great, lights, brake lights and turn signals. I just drove it in a parade with no heating issues whatsoever..in fact I won 2 trophies pictured..one for the Grand Marshall's choice and the other for rarest vehicle. There are only a handful of these cars left.
The engine starts right up with one pump on the foot feed..very original under the hood. The Transmission has been recently rebuilt. In case you are not familiar with Mopar's Fluid Drive.Don't be scared off if you don't want to be clutching in traffic....once in gear and have started rolling you do not have to use the clutch. It has a high and low range that shifts as an automatic. you can start in high and come to a light without putting in the clutch and take off..it will run through the gears. Pretty cool. The wood is all original with the DiNok panel inserts being newly replaced. The Paint is not bubbling due to rust anywhere, there are a few touch ups on chips but all in all seems to be very solid and looks great as you can see in the photos. The wood, as I mentione, is original and very presentable with a nice patina..the clear has good shine and is not peeling/flaking. She has Vintage Firestone wide whites in good shape. As far as History, I know the car years ago was in Texas, I bought the car in California. It is currently licensed in my name. There is an extra box with a few misc. parts that go with the car. . Please feel free to call with any questions..Jay 360-852-0589 I'm 100% since 1999
I will gladly assist any overseas buyers.
