THIS IS AN AMAZING RUST FREE SURVIVOR CHALLENGER RT THAT SPENT ITS LIFE IN CALIFORNIA UNTIL I PURCHASED ONE YEAR AGO. I PURCHASED FROM THE SECOND OWNER WHO PURCHASED THE RTIN OCTOBER 1973. PLEASE FIND IN THE PICTURES AN EMAIL SENT TO ME FROM THE PRIOR OWNER ON THE HISTORY. RT WAS PURCHASED NEW AT HILLSDALE DODGE IN SAN MATEO BY ROBERT WONG. ROBERT HAD A GAS STATION DOWN THE STREET FROM WHERE CRAIG AND MARILYN LIVED IN SAN FRANCISCO, THE CAR WAS SITTING ON THE CORNER GAS STATION LOT WITH A FOR SALE SIGN. THE MAJORITY OF THE DINGS AND DENTS IN THE CAR TODAY WERE DONE BY MRS. WONG. I HAVE A FILE FULL OF RECEIPTS AND REGISTRATION CARDS FROM OVER THE YEARS. BASED ON THE RECORDS THE MILEAGE ON THE RT IN JULY 1984 WAS 94000, TODAY THE ODOMETER READS 123727. THE CAR WAS DRIVEN VERY LITTLE IN THE LAST 20 YEARS. AS YOU WILL SEE THIS CAR HAS BEEN EXTREMELY WELL TAKEN CARE OF OVER THE YEARS. I WAS TOLD BY CRAIG THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN HIT OR PAINTED AND THAT THE PAINT IS ALL ORIGINAL WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SOME MINOR SCRATCHES THAT HAVE BEEN TOUCHED UP BY HAND. THE BODY ON THIS RT IS ABSOLUTELY RUST FREE. PAINT SHINES EXTREMELY WELL FOR BEING 47 YEARS OLD. THE VINYL TOP IS IN GREAT CONDITION WITH NO TEARS.PLEASE SEE PICTURES OF THE UNDERSIDE WITH THE ORIGINAL MARKINGS STILL PRESENT. THE REAR BRAKE DRUMS HAVE THE ORIGINAL RED PAINT STILL PRESENT WITH CHAUK MARKS IN THE WHEEL WELL.ALL ORIGINAL CHROME, APPEARS THE DRIVERS DOOR WINDOW HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT ALL GLASS IS IN GREAT CONDITION.
INTERIOR IS ALL ORIGINAL WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE AFTERMARKET RADIO.THE ORIGINAL RADIO IS INCLUDED WITH THE CAR, PLEASE SEE PICTURES. FRONT BUCKETS HAVE SOME TEARS IN THE VINYL, CARPET IS FADED BUT OVERALL VERYNICE FOR ITS AGE. THE DASH PAD ISOUTSTANDING WITH NO CRACKS, ALL SEAT BELTS ARE EXISTING. GAUGES ARE NICE, CLOCK, WIPERS AND DASH LIGHTS WILL NEED ATTENTION. DOORS CLOSE EXTREMELY WELL AND WINDOWS WORK AS SHOULD.
ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN - ALL WORKS AND PERFORMS AS SHOULD. ALL NUMBERS MATCHING, PLEASE SEE PICTURES OF STAMPS. I REFRESHED UNDER THE HOOD WITH HAVING THE CORRECT NUMBERS MATCH RADIATOR CHECKED/CLEANED, NEW WATERPUMP, NEW FUEL PUMP, ALL NEW HOSES, NEW PLUGS/CORRECT CODED WIRES, NEW AFTERMARKET HOLLEY CARB, NEW MASTER CYLINDER, NEW VALVE COVER GASKETS AND HAD THE ORIGINAL POWER STEERING GEAR BOX REBUILT. I PAINTED THE TOP HALF OF THE ENGINE WITH THE CORRECT BILL HIRSCH MOPAR COLOR.THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS ALL ORIGINAL PAINT, I JUST DEGREASED AND WAXED. I HAD THE TRANSMISSION LEAKS FIXED BY A PROFESSIONAL TRANSMISSION SHOP AND SERVICED, WORKS OUTSTANDING. ALL RECEIPTS OF WORK DONE WILL BE INCLUDED ALONG WITH THE CARB THAT WAS ON THE CAR WHEN PURCHASED, SEE PICTURES. THE DISTRIBUTOR WAS CHANGED OUT, ORIGINAL DISTRIBUTOR IS INCLUDED.BRAKES WORK GOOD, EXHAUST WILL NEED ATTENTION. REAR END HAS NONOISES WITH NO LEAKS. THE PRIOR OWNER HADTHEVALVES GROUND, PUSH RODS, TIMING CHAIN/GEAR REPLACED IN 1990.THE RT IS READY TOGO AND SHOW.
TRUNK -OUTSTANDING ALL ORIGINAL WITH CORRECT MAT AND JACK. THIS SHOULD HAVE THE INFLATOR FOR A SPARE BUT THE ORIGINAL OWNER BACK IN THE DAY OPTED FOR A FULL SPARE. I REMOVED THE TIRE AND LEFT THE 15" RIM IN PLACE.
WHEELS - ALL ORIGINAL OPTIONAL 15" WHEELS. ALL WHEELS WITH EXCEPTION OF THE SPARE ARE CORRECT CODED AND DATED. THIS WAS A RARE OPTION FOR CHALLENGER.
DOCUMENTATION - I HAVE A FILE OF RECIEPTS AND REGISTRATION CARDS FROM OVER THE YEARS. I DID NOT FIND A BUILD SHEET, I ONLY LOOKED UNDER THE BACK SEAT SO IT MAY STILL BE IN THE CAR. ORIGINAL FENDER TAG NEVER REMOVED OR ALTERED.
