66 Dodge Dart GT V8, 2 Door Hardtop
Description
For sale is my super rare, 1966 Dart GT V8 2 door Hardtop. (Low Reserve)
Originally a 273 car, with a ABF Carter 4 barrel, now upgraded with a rebuilt 318 and a Edelbrock600cfm4 barrel carb. This Dart is a nice summer cruiser and it also really gets up and goes with 245hp and 260lb torque! This car runs great, sounds lovely with a nice rumble and drives super smooth. She's a straight car and gets lots of looks! There is zero cancer on the car but there was light surface rust in the interior when purchased, which was sanded, cleaned and sprayed with a rust inhibitor, before paint. The exterior paint is original and pretty solid but there is a little flaking, mostly on the deck lid. I thought it looks cool with the little bit of surface rust here and there; it's patina and patina is cool today. There is a minor leak around the bolts on the transmission pan, but that's just a simple gasket change. I probably will leave that as is because I haven't the time to work on it. Other than that, there is no leaks anywhere. I can't say if the mileage is accurate given that the speedo cable was broke when I purchased the car. It has since been replaced and reconnected. It works but from the sound coming from the dash, it seems the connector in the dash cluster needs to be replaced. I removed the dash cluster to clean up the electrical connections so as to get the gauges working. I was able to get the dash lights working, alt works, temp works but didn't get the oil pressure light to work. Perhaps that's just a bulb issue.
RARITYIn 1966 only 10,000 Dart GT V8 cars were built. Looking online, I have only found 2 or 3 of these 66 GT V8 Darts out there. It seems that very few have survived the now 50 year journey, which makes this car quite special.
