1968 Dodge Charger 440 4spd Black on black. Low Miles. Minimal rust. Extra parts
Description
You are bidding on a 1968 Dodge Charger. Car comes with additional '69 body parts and 2 engines. Read on.
This is a 2 owner car with a clear Oklahoma title. Current owner has owned the car since 1978. The car was sold new in Tulsa, Ok. and has lived its entire life here. The car was factory gold with a black vinyl top and (per the fender tag) black tail stripe, manual transmission, manual steering, manual brakes and gold bucket seat interior, Ralley gauges with tic-tock tach. The car has had one repaint in its life, at which time it was changed from gold to black, and the black paint is in decent condition. The vinyl top is original and is still in good shape. There are some bubbles starting under the top, but the steel roof does not feel weak. The car does need restoration but as old Mopars go, this is a great one to restore.
The car was parked in the mid 80s after a light front end collision. The 68 fenders are dented in front but fixable and there is no damage to the frame rails, bumper, brackets, etc. The car comes with a complete 69 front clip among other 69 parts which I will list below. Body is in good overall condition. Frame rails, fenders, rockers, doors, trunk lid, PS quarter, all solid! The DS quarter has a small amount of bubbling behind the wheel and some old body work near the C pillar, but the panel could be used if a guy didn't want to go with a new panel.
It does need floors and a small patch in the DS inner fender well. Interior will need redone, of course. Most glass is good. The rear glass and the DS door glass will need replaced, but the car is kept covered. The engine is a low mile 440 (not numbers matching) which if I decoded it correctly, is a '71 interceptor engine. The car also comes with a good 225 /6 and std trans if you want to take it.In addition to the second engine, the car also comes with more additional parts. There is a complete, solid, rust free 69 front clip including grille, headlight doors, headlight motor, marker lights, etc. All there. Also comes with a good solid pair of 69 doors, a hurst shifter, an extra 68 rear bumper, the original gold steel wheels, and a few other small parts.
Buyer can take delivery of the car as it is sold, or if the buyer so wishes, I am an experienced car builder with my own business and I will be glad to talk about options for restoring the car and delivering a finished product.I have described this car and everything included as accurately as possible to the best of my ability. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. Ask questions before you bid. Your winning bid is a legally binding agreement. I will be glad to assist the buyer with shipping if necessary. Winning bidder is required to pay a non-refundable $2000 deposit within 48 hours of end of auction. The car is also for sale locally, so Owner does reserve the option to end the auction earlyOn Aug-15-17 at 07:42:08 PDT, seller added the following information:DETAILS ABOUT 440 ENGINE: I have been asked what the condition of the 440 is. The engine is/was a strong running 4 barrel engine with purple cam. It has been +/- 5 years since it was last started. Engine was pulled with the intention of starting restoration on the Charger but the son had no interest in "dad's old car" The engine has less than 70k mi on it. Since the engine was pulled, it has been stored inside and has been covered.
