Up for auction is a real deal Dodge Dart Swinger Scat Pack 340 . This is a real deal FJ5 sub lime green, V1G black gator grain top, D5X9 black bucket seat, E55 340 275 horse v8 which that number has been far eclipsed by the build on this engine. This is the history on this car, it was purchased at Grand Spalding Dodge in Chicago ILL late 1970, this is in no way being represented as a DSR Mr. Norms Dart, there is no way for me to document that fact nor would I pretend to represent this car as such. The Dart was then brought to California in 1974 where it spent some time running down Irwindale Raceway until the original motor was blown. The car was then stored in Marina Del Ray storage yard until February of 1997 I have been holding on to it since that time. I started restoration on this car 2 years ago and it has been a real challenge trying to verify and document the options this car was born with, so that being said this is what has been done. First the original motor was long gone but I had purchased a 1968 Dick Landy racing 340 long block serial #DW34022540312 JJ30, this motor is balanced, blue printed, and has the best of everything including X heads part#2531894., motor has about 375Hp, transmission is the factory 727 Torq flight that has been completely rebuilt, rear end was a factory 8 3/4 391 suregrib that was completely rebuilt by Coast Driveline with green bearings new clutch pack, and since the original 391 ring and pinion had teeth missing from drag racin, it was replaced with a more street friendly US Gear 355 ring and pinion, I did keep the original 391 gear and pinion and it will go with the sale of the car. The four piston Kelsey Hays disc brakes have been rebuilt the rear brakes have been rebuilt, it does have a new master cylinder but retains the original power booster that works perfect. Body- the body on this car is rust free, the paint is RM Diamont Single stage Sub Lime green, the black Gator grain top is flawless. The interior retains the original door cards as well as the original upholstery on the rear seat, the front buckets have new Legendary seat upholstery as well as new foam to make them firmer, consul is in excellent shap, new wood grain, rally pack gauge cluster is in excellent shape, the dash pad is original but has a after market dash cap over it. You will notice in the pictures that I took pictures of the quarter windows to show you the original scat pack decals that are still there I did order a new set that will go with the sale of the vehicle, it was just a testament to how well this car was kept. Last thing I wanted to bring up are the license plates- these are the original plates issued to this car when it came to Ca in 1974, CA DMV has changed the laws as of March 2017, will not let me register these plates back to the car they want me to purchase legacy plates so the vehicle will stay on Non Operation until the new owner decides what to do.
