Description

1936 Dodge 4 door Sedan Street Rod

** No Reserve **

About the car:

I purchased the car from Mesquite, TX in May 2015. I wanted a 4 door car to use in weddings and this was going to be it. But now I am facing some bills from a hospital stay, so I am selling it. This street rod is driven to car shows, not trailered.

The following has been done to the car since I bought it:
  • new wiring harness
  • new alternator
  • new electric fan
  • new brackets under the front fenders were purchased and installed because they were missing
  • new spark plugs
  • Holley Carburetor
  • new fuel regulator
  • new fuel filters (2)
  • new thermostat & housing
  • most of the distributor is new parts
  • new air cleaner
  • new grill
  • Front seats have been swapped out
  • new wheels
  • new headlights
  • new taillights

Car has:

  • Chevy 327 motor
  • Chevy Turbo 400 transmission
  • Mustang II independent front suspension w/ 1975 Granada rotors
  • 1970 Chevelle rear end
  • Dakota Digital gauges
  • Roof has been filled (it's painted brown so it looks like an original leather top)
  • Battery is mounted in trunk (w/ battery shut-off switch in trunk also)
  • Electric fan with toggle switch under the dash. Use it in slower speed driving. Don't need it at highway speeds. Fan automatically turns on/off with temp. sensor.
  • Air shocks on the rear

Issues:

  • There is a broken off bolt in the head on the driver's side where the valve cover is attached. Needs to be drilled out.
  • Rear end needs to be narrowed to get the tires under the fenders. When folks ride in the back seat, the fenders rub the tires.
  • When the gas gauge reaches 55%, the tank is almost empty.
  • The car drives fine down the road but does have a vapor lock problem where it will shut off. Then it cranks right back up. It has copper fuel lines that I have not swapped out yet.
The motor uses Royal Purple 20w50 oil. With lesser weight oil, the oil pressure goes way down.
The car is being offered for sale locally also. If it sells locally before the auction ends, I will end the auction.
