Description

Fresh off a thorough and exacting rebuild, this 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Tribute will turn heads and draw a lot of admiring nods as it cruises the boulevard. Looking way beyond great, this road-ready muscle car is primed to begin its next chapter of life and take its next lucky owner on miles and miles of motoring adventures.
Sporting an exceptionally sharp Hemi Orange Flake paint job really accentuates the angular athleticism of its exterior, this is one truly impressive looking Challenger. Its nostalgic, yet awe-inspiring appearance really holds up over time it's certainly no accident that '70s- era Challengers have been featured in movies for decades, ranging from "Vanishing Point" to "The Fast and the Furious." That stare-inducing orange paint job is accented by a black vinyl roof with a very new look that shows no sun damage at all, as well as a fiberglass spoiler and metal rear window louvres are equally fresh. Up front, the deep black shaker-style hood scoop hints at the power that lies underneath and the condition of the chrome bumpers and trim is pretty noteworthy, as well everything appears nice and straight. Step around to either side and you'll also notice that the body panels have been very well-fitted. In back you'll see that those extra wide taillights and Dodge lettering that runs between them are crystal clear and sit above a set of very cool quad exhaust tips peering out from below.
Open a door and glance inside and you'll see an equally impressive looking interior. Decked out in black vinyl, the high-backed bucket seats in front and bench seat in back have a definite newness to them, as do the door panels. Newness clearly has its advantages. Sitting between the bucket seats on an equally new-looking center console is a pistol grip shifter that ratchets up the coolness factor of this muscle car even further, and below that runs an expanse of new black carpeting. Just beyond the custom steering wheel is a full complement of very distinctive gauges that sport parchment colored faces and clear lenses and sit against a wood patterned dash, their font perfectly in keeping with the era of this seriously awesome ride. Just to the right of the gauges, a Sony AM/FM/CD stereo stands at the ready to provide your audio options. Occupants will ride in comfort, as the A/C system is blowing cold and forcefully through the well-placed registers up front.
Underneath that long hood with its shaker scoop sits the most coveted powerplant among vintage Dodge enthusiasts, the iconic 440 cubic inch V8. Topped with a 4-barrel carb, it replaces the 6-cylinder engine this Dodge first started with and supplies literally multiples the power. It's running great, firing right up, idling smoothly and emitting a nice throaty rumble through a dual exhaust. The Torqueflit A727 3 Speed automatic transmission it's paired with is well-regarded for both its power-handling capability and ruggedness, so it's a fitting companion for this big block engine. Occupying front and center in the clean-looking, flat black confines of the engine compartment is an amply sized aluminum radiator to keep temperatures in check. In addition to its admirable power, this is one muscle car that's also an easy driver, equipped with power steering and power brakes at all four corners, with discs up front. This Mopar classic rests on a set of 14" stock rims, wrapped in Goodrich T/A radials.
