Description

This is a rare 1947 Dodge Woodie Wagon. the wood body built by Campbell. that is 90% original. A true find. Less than 80. 00 (75. 73 right now) miles on the odometer. there is no record as to how many of these were built. but my research tells me that one building ofthe Campbell body company that housed these vehicles burnt down in December of 1947. This car should be on display in a museum or somewhere where the public can enjoy it orit would make a great shuttle from a hotel to pick up guests. or it would be great on the property of a Winery or maybe in the showroom of a Dodge dealer. I will describe it the best I can. This car runs and drives and stops, the dash and cowl are the original green paint. the fenders and running boards are black and were repainted at some point. The engine has been detailed and is the original 6 cylinder and the trans is a 4 speed with 1st gear being a granny gear. I guess for climbing walls. you can pull out the throttle and let her go in that gear and it just keeps going. The material on the top of the car is original. The two rear seats are the original upholstery but the front seat has been recovered in a similarmaterialat some point. The wood on the car is original except for one small piece near the left rear. The gauges work except for the temp gauge. The electrical system has a new battery and is 6 volt all the lights work. Gas tank has been cleaned and lined. the brakes have been gone through. Some of the glass in the car is original. The glass has NO cracks. The windshieldcranks out with the turn of a T handle crank on the dash. Tires are like new. She is in storage for the winter, but you are welcome to come by and go for a spin if you like. A photo shoot with this car has been done inCaliforniaand it is a real crowd pleaser. By the way I found the original engine crank. yes engine crank under the front seat. Winner is to pay by arranged means. non refundable deposit of $500 within48 hoursof the auction end. Full payment due in 14 days. She can stay in storage until spring. I will help with transport where I can. Yes. I have a clear title in hand and the car is currently registered in New York was California. I do have this vehicle advertised locally and will reserve the right to end this auction at any time.
