1970 Challenger T/A
Description
I purchased this car from New Jersey area a few years back and the project has stalled and I have decided to let someone else take over. I'm taking a loss on the car considering the parts purchased and work done. This is a complete numbers matching car, engine & transmission with 2 excellent build sheets and a excellent fender tag. The car was purchased in 1970 by a female college student and driven like you would expect from a female driver, original door panels are mint and would not need restoration or paint. The car was parked in 1989 in a drive way until it was purchased from the guy I bought it from in 2012. I have pictures of the original owner with the car and myself with the second owner. There is a neat story about the purchase I will share with the future owner on why the car was purchased in 1970.
The car today is mostly complete, drive line is in the car, all the parts that are going with the car are neatly wrapped and placed inside the car, it is on 4 new tires and restored 14" rims (14" BF Goodrich and restored rallye rims). Upper cowl was repaired/sectioned by an expert metal craftsman and it is ready to be attached to the lower cowl (or lower cowl replaced, I will include new repo), body stamping on the cowl looks great. Seats have been expertly restored, seat frames dipped and repainted and re-covered with Legendary Interiors and PG seat foams, they look awesome and new.
I will say this car needs significant rust repair, trunk floor, drop offs, front and rear floors, parts of the A-pillar, pitting on roof skin, rear frame rails need repair or replacement, front frame rails are in decent shape and will not need replacement. Rusty filler panel was removed and discarded, roof edge, pillar posts, original fenders are still on the car but need repair or replacement. Body clearly needs a complete restoration. Doors are in great shape. Car is in original factory paint today.
Numbers matching engine & transmission, proper date coded carbs, original door sticker, dash VIN, 2 excellent build sheets, original T/A steering box, rear end is original and never been apart.
Engine is not stuck, it was turned over manually in 2012.
Car has auto, factory rally gauges, power steering, power disc brakes, center console, no vinyl roof, came with 15" Rallye rims from factory (not included).
Missing are the gas tank, fuels lines, brake lines, no truck lid, no original wheels (comes with 14" restored on new rubber), brake booster, master cylinder, wiper motor, front windshield and a few other smaller items, head liner etc.
Here is what has been restored on the car already, and is included with the sale;
