Description

IS THIS A REAL SUPERBEE? Past owner said it was, I looked on a VIN decoder and it says if the first 2 digits are WM it is a Dodge Coronet Superbee. I think it the real deal, decode the VIN and make sure. IS THE ENGINE ORIGINAL? No, by the VIN decoder it cam with a 383 engine. It now has a 440 with the 6 pack carburetor set up. The 6 pack is not MOPAR, it is after market...with 3 Holley 2 barrel carburetors. I hear no knocks are bad rattles in the engine and see no blue smoke. Past owner said it was freshly rebuilt, it looks very fresh. HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? I just put a new B and M street or strip transmission in, the original had been rebuilt blue had a slip. This BM is suppose to be a lot stronger, it should be it cost enough. HEAD LIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK! TURN SIGNALS WORK! BRAKE LIGHTS WORK! WIPERS WORK! HORN NOT WORKING! GAUGES ON IN A POD UNDER DASH AND WORK! GAS GAUGE WORKS, BUT I'll not guarantee its exactly right! DOME LIGHT NOT WORKING! ORIGINAL RADIO NOT WORKING AND NEED FACE PLATE! HOW IS THE BODY? No rust bubbles in the paint, under side is very clean. Some metal has been replace, looks solid. HOW IS THE PAINT? The color is B5, some call it electric blue metallic or surf blue pearl or bright blue poly. Its my favorite color, I bought a new 1969 Dodge Charger when I got back from Vietnam that was this blue. The paint is upper end driver quality, I see no dents or dings and the shine is very good. I do see some specs, some touched up chips on edges and a very little orange peel. The paint should have taken just a little longer and done a little better around chrome and and inside corners. The body is straight to my 71 year old eyes, when I look down the sides I don't see a wash board. The paint is nice, but not perfect like a roll out of the trailer Show Queen. HOW IS THE GLASS? Nice glass, windshield looks new. HOW IS THE CHROME? New front bumpers, door handles look great, emblems good, grill nice, trim around windshield and back window have some scuffs and don't fit great in the corners. Vent windows shine good, but have lots of pits. HOW IS THE INTERIOR? Good seat covers with no wear, they have some wrinkles. Headliner good with some wrinkles, carpet good, dash pad good with nor cracks, door panels good. HOW IS THE EXHAUST? Big old tube headers that are coated, pipes goods with some close fits, muffler too quite. I don't like the mufflers they are in great condition, but don"t have the muscle car sound. Idling with a engine with a mild cam it just don't sound the way I like. HOW ARE THE BRAKES? Disc in front and drums in rear. Brakes are fine, but does not have a power booster, you have to use your foot. HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? Past owner did not help the driving by putting big square corner tires on and a smaller steering wheel. That type of tire makes a car follow the road and a with more tread on the ground you have to put more effort when steering. HISTORY? All I can tell you is that a guy from Columbus, Ohio gave up on the car, he sold it to my restoring friend near Cincinnati and I bought it from him. WHERE IS THE CAR LOCATED? Athens, Tennessee 37303. BOTTOM LINE! This a beautiful car, but its not perfect. If you want perfect look at the other real Superbees on ebay motors and get your bill fold out.
