Description

This Dodge is what started it all for our company. If you take a look at our listings you'll see we design and manufacture parts and tools for 4BT and 6BT Cummins. Our needs are changing and we need a truck with a service body - this truck is just too nice to tear apart for a service body so its time to let it go. We are selling our bone stock shop truck that we've had since 2011. We'll run through the general facts below and if you have any questions please ask before committing to purchase. This vehicle is 2 owner - you would be third. The carfax will show 2 owners before we purchased but that was a transaction inside the previous owners family (was transferred owners when previous owner moved and truck was retitled back to her - we purchased the truck after the lady who previously owned it passed).
It is most correct to call this a 1991.5 truck as it is both intercooled and has an overdrive transmission. Additionally it is the first year for the desirable rotary vane vacuum/steering pump system (no diaphragms). We don't tow but we use the bed for our business and it never let us down. There is some rust popping out here and there, it has all been there since 2011 and it hasn't progressed much since then. The truck looks as honest as that 12V sounds and to us it seems like a crime to do any major body repairs. Its a head turner the way it is and in our opinion the body should be left alone, just regularly washed to keep going another 27 years.
All 4 tires are Yokohama Geolander A/T and have lots of tread and ride quiet. Has a factory full size spare under the bed. We replaced all of the front end joints with new Moog parts about 2 years ago. Its been aligned and rechecked every year and its held perfect alignment still.
Interior is clean but the bench has some tears - they've also been there since 2011 and have not progressed any. AC is cool but not cold because the charge has not been checked in a number of years - this should be recharged. Floor mat and insulation was replaced in 2011.
Transmission shifts crisp and quick. Fluid and filter have been regularly replaced with ATF+3 since 2011. Previous owners were equally meticulous and transmission does not skip a beat.
Brakes are firm and strong but it does need new brakes. The front pads are worn and click when changing direction from reverse to forward. The calipers, rotors, and hoses were all replaced about 2 years ago but its time to do new pads on the front. This truck originally had rear wheel ABS which has been deleted. The rear brakes need to be replaced as well. The self adjuster cable broke inside the drum a couple years ago and we haven't dug into it (sad fact). That said the rear brakes need to be completely replaced - this includes almost certainly needing new drums.
Engine runs like any 12V you've seen. Starts right up hot, cold, or anything in between. The original injection pump started leaking about 3 years ago so we removed it and instead of resealing it we installed a fresh reman unit. Pump is completely stock - nothing modified. The downpipe and muffler on the exhaust are good but the tailpipe and mid pipe need to be replaced. Not loud or anything but they are tired and have to be replaced.
When we redid the front suspension we also put a set of Sachs shocks on the front. The rear shocks were not touched and need to be replaced. The truck sits quite level because we put D350 1-ton coils on the front. Rides nice and has a level stanvce. These went in a couple years ago and are Moog springs.
The odometer stopped at under 160,000. Actual mileage unknown but it sure looks and rides like it has less.
Truck drives down the road smooth and straight. Driver side quarter window whistles a little when you're at highway speeds - that rubber needs to be replaced. We tried adding to the door seal but really the quarter window seal needs to just be removed and replaced. We've driven this truck all over the east coast and it will go where you need it to. Not a perfect truck but its been cared for by people who care and is a really nice original.
Battery is recent and we wired the headlights into relays a number of years ago. All the lights work including even the two door switches.
Payment Note: our truck is owned by the company owner. Payment will be made to the owner and need to be either in the form of a cashiers check or wire. PayPal is not an accepted payment method for this purchase.
Shipping Note: we can hold the truck for your shipper if you need to use uship.com to get it picked up.
