Description

This is a solid and interesting example of a first-generation Charger offered at an affordable price. This car was delivered with a 383 and a 3-speed automatic from the factory. It is still equipped that way, although it's uncertain if they are the originals units. The car runs well and looks awesome because, of course, it's a first-generation Charger! Check it out. See if it's the car you have been looking for. Dodge really distinguished this car... from the competition when they designed it. Nobody else has ever cut a fastback line like this car does. You could see nothing but a shadowy silhouette of this car and know what it is. The front of the car leads with an electric shaver grill of fine vertical lines that runs completely from side to side, is trimmed in chrome, and has a nice new bumper underneath. It looks awesome and conceals the quad hideaway headlights that roll open into place on demand. There is a piece of chrome that runs down the top edge of the fenders and doors accentuating the rear fender flare and underlining the slope of the roof. Silver flames on the Red paintjob always grab attention and they match the aluminum dish wheels and rocker moldings very nicely. The roof slopes cleanly into the rear of the car and is underlined by simple black panel and then a sharp looking chrome bumper. Open the door and you will find a black and white interior that has a few unique features. It has bucket seats both front and rear because they built these cars with center consoles in the rear too. One or both of the back seats can be folded down making for more cargo space. All the seats are low back buckets covered in white pleated vinyl. The whole interior is split with white on the top and black below the centerline. A custom console was built which houses a TV and gaming system for the back-seat passengers, so you may have trouble on a long trip finding someone willing to join you in the front. There is a beefy Grant 3-spoke steering wheel that feels good in your hands and an 8-ball shifter for the 3-speed automatic trans is mounted in the center console. The stock dash is supplemented by a set of Sunpro gauges and a Clarion stereo with speakers both front and rear. Pop the hood and you will find a healthy 383 cubic inch engine shoehorned into the engine bay. It has a chrome Edelbrock air topper that is feeding a Holley 4-bbl carburetor. An Edelbrock Performer 383 intake gets the fuel mixture to stock heads where it is fired by a Mallory Promaster ignition coil working through newer plugs, cap, rotor, and wires. Mopar Performance finned aluminum valve covers look great and help with oil cooling a bit. There is a new alternator and battery and protective stainless braiding protects the rubber lines in the engine bay while long tube headers lead to cherry bomb style mufflers and then turn out in front on the rear wheels. Torsion bars in the front and leaf springs in the rear help the car keep a low profile. Cragar aluminum dish wheels have 275/60R15s tires mounted on the rear and 235/70R15s in the front which help give this car a nice aggressive stance. Come on down and check this car out. It's a unique model with the same engine and transmission combination it was delivered with. It might be just the car you have been looking for.
