Description

This 1969 Dodge D100 Custom Prospector sure is one vibrant looking customer. It's been in service for nearly half a century and yet you can still easily picture it rolling out and performing its duties at a farm or worksite and, with its sharp, period correct exterior joined by its strong running condition . . . it easily could. Some nice extra touches to the interior make it a comfortable ride as well. Seafoam green running...along its sides gives way to white to provide this classic among classics with a magnetic, period correct color scheme - this two-tone combo really stands out in a great way. The pigmentation is nice and even from front to back and while the texture could be a bit smoother, it's nothing a good detailer couldn't manage. It's plenty strong as far as body alignment is concerned - the long contours running along its sides remain nice and even as you trace them from front fender to the door on back to the bed, and the doors open and close with ease. Up front, a grille that was totally revamped just one year before this '69 came out sits over a table straight bumper, while in back the bi-colored tailgate over the painted white bumper is a winner. Fresh-looking rubber seals surround the front and rear windshields and the badging on board appears to be pretty solid. In all the respects that matter most, it appears this D100 has weathered time impressively well. The interior sports a sort of "factory plus" look - retaining a properly vintage appeal with some nice touches added in. The bench seat features a great combination of cloth and vinyl and offers a lot of comfort as you navigate this vintage pickup through its rounds. The snug-fitting matching headliner really looks nice. The woodgrain steering wheel on the column appears to have been recently added, and the dash area just beyond it has received a lot of attention to bring it to its current stellar condition. Fresh chrome encircles the original instrument panel and the factory gauges inside sit behind a crystal clear lens while being joined by a trio of aftermarket gauges to keep a read on motoring functions. The aftermarket AM/FM stereo is a nice add, offering both iPod and Bluetooth connectivity to expand your audio options. In back, the bed area is covered in glossy white paint, and that multi-colored lift gate functions just as intended. Beneath the hood is a nicely dressed and period correct 383 cubic inch V8, wearing a chrome air cleaner and chrome valve covers for added eye candy, as well as an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and intake to extract maximum power. It sits in an impressively well-detailed engine compartment - some serious work went into the aesthetics inside here, as it's surrounded by freshly painted surfaces and new hoses. Fire it up and it will become obvious right away that this truck is just as ready for heavy labor as it is to make its presence felt on the local car show circuit - it sounds strong through its long tube headers and runs smoothly. True to its hard-working heritage, the accompanying 4-speed transmission offers a low first gear to get this truck moving while under load, with the rest of the gearing plenty well-suited for everyday driving, while featured power steering makes for easy navigation. This vital looking workhorse performs its duties on a set of 15" Cragar wheels wrapped with Firehawk Indy 500 tires. Running strong and looking great, this 1969 Dodge D100 Custom Prospector is ready to handle whatever its next owner points at it. Call today!
