1978 Dodge D150 Pickup Truck. Approximately 85k miles. It's a "Custom 150). Two wheel drive. 5.2L (318ci) v8 with automatic 3 speed transmission. The truck was cosmetically restored in the '90s and the original owner passed away and it sat for 20 years, but was started frequently.
The bad; transmission needs repair or rebuilding. It's a 727. It shifts fine but is acting like a bad valve body or binding bands. It feels like its binding, or under load/ has trouble revving in gear. Need replacement parking brake cables. Has side dump glass packs.(they came on the truck). Factory AM radio is either not hooked up or non-operational. The tops of the bed rails have a few extra holes in them from various tool boxes/attachments over the last 30+ years.
The Good; Brand new Good Year tires with 10 miles on them. New seat upholstery, new headers, new carburetor, new starter, new plugs, new wires, new fuel pump, new thermostat, newer radiator, new coolant and heater hoses, new cap and rotor, rebuilt wiper linkage, new battery, new front wheel bearings, new brakes pads and shoes. New power brake booster. New air filter. New fuel filter. New front rotors, new rear drums and brake springs. New soft brake hoses. New rear wheel cylinders. New front calipers. New rear bumper. I'm probably forgetting something else I replaced. I went through it planning to daily drive it.
All lights and turn signals work, with the exception of the roof lights. I never checked or replaced the bulbs.
She fires up fast and purrs.
I bought the truck from the original owners family last year. I put it back on the road and tagged and insured it. I planned to restore it and keep it, but I moved to a mountain property and bought a low mile 4x4 Dodge to rebuild instead.
99% or more rust free. Small spot in the bed from the spare tire mount. Driver fender, and hood will need minor repair for show quality paint. The bed sides are rust free but have a few small dingers from being all old truck. Really an exceptional project truck. Very hard to find an old dodge this straight.
These are pictures from the last couple of months. I plan on taking more by the weekend.
Clean title in my hand, and ready for a new owner. It will drive on a trailer under it's own power.
