1966 Dodge Coronet 440 Convertible
Description
You're looking at a reliable old car that I drive daily. Currently has 81,000 miles and climbing.
318 poly engine that runs like a swiss watch. Recent tune up. Auto trans that shifts great. 8 3/4 rear that I don't know what the ratio is but it works good as well. Brakes stop nice and strait. Easiest turning power steering you ever felt. Feels like every old Mopar though, just a little slop in it.
The body has rust in the quarters, a little in the trunk right behind the wheel wells, and on the front of the right fender. Structurally this is a very solid car. Core support, frame rails, rockers, floors etc. are very nice, as this car was undercoated at some point. This isn't the most well supported Mopar as far as aftermarket sheet metal goes, but what is available will pretty well take care of this one should you choose to fix it. Personally, it's so much trouble free fun like it is, I don't think I'd change a thing. This car gets insane attention. There is evidence of some accident repair that you can see if you look at the right fender apron in front of the shock tower. It appears to have been hammered out. There is no evidence of damage to the frame rail and this car tracks straight and true.
Tires are brand new and it wears a really cool set of 14 inch vintage Keystone wheels.
Everything works except for the gas gauge. It has the clearest sounding AM radio I've every owned. Top down drives while listening to talk radio make my day.
As for the top, it's in good condition but the plastic rear window is torn. It is a power top and goes up and down just fine, although it is a little slow to start going up on the left side.
Altogether, it's not a perfect car, but it has a great patina, it's ready to drive and it's priced fair.
Please ask any questions. I'm happy to talk about it and will take pictures of anything you like. The buyer is responsible for picking it up or arranging shipping. Cash is the accepted method of payment.
