Description

Up for sale is 1978 Dodge D300 adventurer club cab dually. These trucks are very hard to find in any condition let alone the condition this truck is in. I've had this truck for about 4 years and never really planned on selling it but I was recently able to buy a car I've been after for years so as much as it kills me, this big guy has to go. This truck is originally from Arizona and was used to tow a horse trailer back in the day. Has fifth wheel in bed. The body and frame of this truck are extremely clean!! All floors are really nice. The only rot this truck has are a few blisters below the front drip rail, right above the windshield, which every single one of these trucks will get regardless of where the truck is from. Everything else is very nice. It was stored under a carport the majority of its life and its been garaged the whole time I've had it. This is a pretty loaded up truck for what it is. It was ordered with the Adventurer package and has factory A/C and Cruise control to boot however neither work at the moment. Has 440, 727 and Dana 70 rear w/ 4.10 gears. Runs, drives and stops good! Shifts through the gears as it should. Rides exactly like an old 1 ton truck. Since I've had it, its gotten a new water pump, fan clutch, thermostat, original thermoquad carburetor rebuilt, all new belts, upper and lwr rad hoses, ps pump and hoses, full custom dual exhaust w/ flowmasters and a bunch of other little things. While this is a very nice truck, it is not perfect by any means. After all, it is a 41 year old unrestored truck. Has some dings and dents, the radiator has a few small pinholes in the top tank, and could use motor mounts. The wiring on this truck is a bit messy, I planned on cleaning the wiring up but never got around to it. The temp gauge quit working and the speedometer likes to do its own thing. This truck also has dual fuel tanks (both plastic and both have been repaired over the years. It wont run off the secondary tank though, switches over but wont stay running. I never got around to looking into it further and I always ran it off the main tank. I have a bunch of extra parts that will go with this truck such as a NOS front underhood wiring harness (goes across rad sppt to bulkhead), a near mint tailgate that was an early take off and stored in a basement, a nice set of interior door panels, dash pad, glove box door, gauges, a dash clock, a set of very repairable rear flares, and a bunch of other odds and ends. All 6 tires are nice and have plenty of life left in them. This is an awesome old truck and it kills me just typing up the listing but unfortunately for me, it has to go. This is a very rare truck and you'd be very hard pressed to find another as clean as this one. It definitely deserves to be taken to the next level. Has a clean NJ title in my name. Tonneau cover is not included. Feel free to call me with any questions you may have.John 609-462-4052. Buyer responsible for pickup
