Much of the restoration was done by the previous owner in New York between 2010-2012. A lot of new parts and sheet metal. He also changed the dashboard for another one that was in good condition. Because the 1968 and earlier Dodge vehicles only had the vin numbers on the dash plate and the fender tag (nowhere else on the body or frame) the State of New York would not allow the original vin plate / fender tag to be transferred to the new dash. They assigned the car a new Vin number after inspecting the vehicle once the restoration was finished. As you can see in the photos, the title (now Florida) is clean and carries the new vin number. I was told the car was a 318 car, but of course now is so much more as a true "Resto Mod." It is not simply disc brakes and big wheels. It is better in every way.
This car really howls and will cruise at 80-90 mph with the AC blowing. The torque converter makes it launch and hit the gears like a true muscle car. The cam makes the car sound like a 60s cammed, solid lifter car, but with the reliability of a modern car that starts when you turn the key and big 4 wheel disc brakes that the shed speed off fast. The 1968-70 Chargers are becoming rarer each day, especially in this condition. It is no a trailer queen, this car gets driven, just drove it 400 miles last weekend. Every time I take this car out, whether it is a show or cruising down the streets, it always gets a lot of attention, thumbs ups, and plenty of picture taking. I am putting money into a business, otherwise I would keep this modern classic for ever.
Odometer shows 96,170, but the mileage is unknown.
The car is for sale locally and may be taken down at anytime.
