Description

For sale by collector in NJ. Cars of this rarity are normally found at auctions. I bought her last year from a friend who cared for this Mopar since 1971. This is an ultra-rare documented survivor with it's ORIGINAL BUILD SHEET (see pic). 1 of approx.163 with the factory 440 Magnum engine. 1 of 1 in this color combo in RT convertible with 440 engine. This is a NUMBERS MATCHING ENGINE & TRANS. All gauges work as they should, including the clock. In the trunk sits the original collapsible spare and jack.
The Challenger is still equipped with its original drivetrain; a drivetrain that's documented to have been driven only 99k miles. The car spent it's entire life in a garage in New Jersey. The original owner in 1970 sold it after 6 months due to the draft. He sold it to his buddy who was a terrific caretaker of his friends car from 1971-2018. Every panel on this Challenger is an original piece, with only the drivers and passenger quarter being replaced. See pics of amazing floors! Surface oxidation in trunk exists but very solid. The car went through a light restoration in the 90's. Sub frame connectors were added to stiffen the chassis. There has been only one re-spray in its original F8 green. Under the hood you will find it's original 440 Magnum V8. This Mopar stops effortlessly with NOS power brakes that I added last year. The car starts right up, drives beautifully and is a real head turner with it's top down on warm days. I have the original Rimblow steering wheel (can be restored), original saddle color seating as well as the drum brakes along with other original parts. You won't find many opportunities to buy a rare documented car like this from an individual that knows it's history. Selling due to other financial priorities. Serious inquiries only please. Happy for car to be inspected. This is an honest and REAL RT.For questions - 917-848-8708
