Description

Movie Car - Dodge Charger 1969 (General Lee)

I am selling both Cars as part of my Movie Car collection. I also have a 1975Ford Torino- Starsky & Hutch - Signed by Paul Michael Glaser

Below I have added as much detail as I have forthe car, along with all the pictures I have. I am not a car dealer or a mechanic, just a private individual who loved these cars, I will answer as many questions as I can. These cars really sell themselves. Also please bear in mind that they are not a“New” car, the Dodge Charger is 50 years old this year. When you take these cars out, they get photographed to death, I have parked next to Lamborghini’s & Ferraris and they get ignored. I am not selling these cars as perfect, I would rather under sell than over sell the cars.

Dodge Charger – Description.

Up for sale is one of the nicest General Lees you will find. I have owned this car for 4 years. There are a lot of "thrown together" General Lee's out there built by people who flip cars or had no money to do it right. This is not one of those cars.

This car was built to be just like John Schneider’s personal General Lee. Here is a what the car has.

First off, it's a Genuine 1969 Dodge Charger. Collectors don't want a 68 or 70 that has been changed to look like a 69. The General Lee is a 69 Charger

  • At least $15,000 was spent in the engine bay alone by the previous owner.

  • 440 cubic inch engine that has been bored .30 over.

  • Aluminum Edelbrock heads with Crane Roller Rockers & Push Rods

  • TRW Pistons

  • March Performance Pulleys Serpentine conversion.

  • BeCool aluminum radiator with dual electric fans & overflow catch can (polished unit)

  • 3-inch TTI Exhaust & TTI Headers Ceramic Coated & Polished.

  • Dynomax Mufflers

  • New correct windshield wipers

  • Miloden racing oil pan.

  • KBS Shocks

  • Front end rebuild kit with bushings from PST

  • Power steering Gear box, quick ratio pitman arm (Police Issue Box)

  • Aluminum transmission cooler

  • Edelbrock Carb with inline fuel pressure regulator.

  • Hemi rear leaf springs

  • Shift kit installed in transmission. This car literally jumps when you hit the gas!

  • MP front Disc Brakes (don't even think about buying one of these beasts without disk brakes)

  • Hemi Differential to handle the power of the motor

  • Sub frame connectors to stiffen up the frame.

  • I have painted the subframe with POR-15

  • The interior and trunk have been sanded down, POR-15 the entire interior of the car, Dyno-matted the entire interior of the car and truck than brand new Legendary carpets throughout.

  • Custom Dodge Charger floor mats.

  • Alpine CD/mp3 player and custom installed speakers.

  • Door and dash trim in the correct tan color

  • Brand new shoulder and lap belts for safety.

  • Hotchkis Sway Bars

  • Saddle Tan Interior

Now about the General Lee...

This car has real vintage American Racing rims that have been POWDER COATED. Not those god-awful re-issues. This car has the 15" American Racing rims. It gives the car a much more aggressive look with the bigger tires.

Screen accurate POWDER COATED front push bar that is bolted to the car.

New Legendary seat covers that are the correct color for the show with rare "buddy seat".

Car comes with the correct teardrop antenna (brand new)

Dixie Horn wired to separate hidden horn switch. You have two horns in this car. A regular horn on the wheel and Dixie under the dash.

The Bad

The General Lee has a few rust spots in the typical rust prone areas for a Charger. The spots are on the two rear quarter panels and on the trunk area next to the rear window. Any good body man should be able to patch these and paint them easily. The car is painted in single stage paint (paint + clear mixed) this makes it super easy for body shops to fix up scratches, etc. (see photos) I would rate the paint about a 7/10. It's good, not great. If the car was newly painted it would be a lot more as you can appreciate, saying that the car looks great. I would rather under sell than over sell the cars.

The car has no roll bar.

I could never get the reverse lights to come on in reverse. When I put power to them, they come on so there must be a bad ground or bad switch.

The front door lights don't come up on their own. You must flip them up manually if you are going to drive at night.

That's it, other than these small things the car is fantastic

Please Note:

  • I will take international bids; the buyer would be responsible to arrange collection & shipping.

  • Immediate $1000 deposit required via PayPal.

  • No warranty on the both cars.

Reason for selling.

I sold my boat as I had no time for the boat, I bought the cars thinking I would have time to drive them, in the last 3 years I clocked up over 2 million air miles so the cars just sit doing nothing. It is now time they found a new home.
