I am selling my 1947 Dodge ¾ Ton Truck. As you can see from the pictures, it took a direct hit from a giant oak tree in a storm last fall. Before the devastating misfortune, it was a beautiful truck. It had a frame off restoration in the 90’s and ran beautifully. The paint is Toreador Red with Black enamel accents. As you can see from the pictures, the truck was converted to 12 volt during the restoration. There was no damage to the front of the truck or the rear of the truck. The engine and all components, transmission and associated assembly parts are all in great condition with no damage. This truck has a 230 CID flathead 6-cylinder engine rated at 85 horsepower and a 3 speed manual transmission with reverse.
I will do my best to describe the damage but please look at the pictures for more detailed information or you can send me a message thru EBAY Messenger with specific questions.
The truck cab is crushed. But the tree fell on my truck in such a way that its outlying branches supported the actual weight of the tree thereby only crushing the cab. The seats survived as did the instrument panel, gear shift, glove compartment and several other interior components (see picture of interior panel). The under-body of the truck is fine as are all the fenders, lights and the entire front end. All of the running gear (clutch, transfer, axels, etc) are all in great shape. The engine is fine as well. I believe with a new battery and some carburetor adjustments it will fire right up. Also, to the best of my knowledge the frame is straight. The tree fell on the truck length wise so the frame was running with the tree. Also, I do not see any cross member damage. There are a few dents on the body and the doors are useless. But overall she is still in pretty good shape.
