1993 Dodge D-150 Gen-1 Ram, 2wd, long-bed, Automatic, LE series
Description
1993 Dodge D150 (Ram) - last year of the 1st-Gen trucks. Virtually bone-stock, numbers matching truck.
-- 318 v8, 4-speed automatic with overdrive (original).
Standard features include multi-port fuel-injection 318 (5.2L) V8 engine, 4-speed automatic transmission, power windows, power locks, tilt column and cruise control. This is an "LE" truck (which back in '93 was the equivelant of a modern Laramie / SLT truck - it has all the creature comforts not normally found in a 1st-Gen, like carpeted floors, a headliner, towing package and class 3 hitch, rear ABS, etc.
2016 resto-mod got a beefed up rear suspension, diamond plate toolbox / mudflaps / and tail-gate trim, tonneau cover, an outstanding audio system / remote start and alarm, LED street legal OSRAM headlights and foglights, OEM dealer optional hood ornament, new fuel injectors, Hughes-Engines plenum kit, engine bay refresh with all new power delivery (upgraded 130 amp HD alternator, etc.), stainless steel exhaust Magnaflow muffler and high-flow cat.
Truck has 100% original paint - and can be considered a "survivor". The paint is cracking / peeling in a few spots - but there is absolutely NO RUST on this truck whatsoever - there is absolutely NO ROT underneath whatsoever. It has been rust-proofed every year. It is drenched with rust-proofing oil (which is good). I considered painting it this summer, but have also been considering selling it - and I know that some folks value having an all original body that is completely straight and completely clean and would value it more with the original checkered paint than if I were to paint the truck.
I have two sets of wheels -- the OEM wheels with summer tires, and black aluminum AR wheels with studded-snow tires, both sets go with the truck.
$18,500 invested in this truck in 2015/2016 (not counting my own time - which is in the range of 400+ hours). Truck has not needed anything except normal maintenance items since then.
--> original motor, original transmission, numbers matching umolested truck. Powertrain was completely gone through in 2015/2016.
--> history shows 3 owners - but it's actually 2... the first owner died, and left this truck in his barn for several years. The 2nd owner was simply the gentleman who purchased part of the 1st owner's estate and then sold off the assets - he never drove it, never did anything to it - simply had it inspected and appraised, and then put it up for sale - at which point I bought it. So this truck has only been loved by two drivers. I'd keep it forever - this was my 'baby' - but I recently switched jobs and now work for a competing automotive manufacturer (one of the other two American 'Big 3' automakers) and driving a Mopar to work everyday is not something I can keep doing in good conscience.
