1962 Dodge Power Wagon W100 Sweptline 4X4 1/2 Ton RARE!!
Description
Here is a SUPER RARE (one of 297 with V8 according to the Power Wagon site) and highly desirable Dodge truck. It is a 1962 factory W100 1/2 Ton Short bed (6 1/2 ft. bed) V-8 4X4 4 speed Sweptline with 114" wheelbase. Has the optional 318 Poly V-8 engine (190 gross h.p. or 164 net h.p.) and high low transfer case with the factory Dana Posi rear end turning factory 4.10 gears and factory Dana front end. Hasn't run in several years but the engine turns by hand and is complete. Not sure if it is the original engine or not. I put newer style steel wheels and roller tires on it. I do have all 5 original split rim wheels that are in great shape. Brakes need attention as there is almost no pedal when you apply it. The truck rolls extremely easily.Looks like the radiator will also need some attention. Both floor pans will need sectioned in (partial). The pans are readily available on ebay for about $75 each with free shipping. The area under the seat is solid. This truck still has most of its original Desert Turquoise paint on it. Options are 318 V8, 4X4, posi rear, radio, heater, passenger side sun visor, and rear shock absorbers. It is almost unbelievable that some of these trucks came without those options!!It comes with a replacement passenger side door that is extremely nice and complete with glass (it rolls up and down) that goes with it. All of the glass is in good shape. The cab top rear corners are dented in. Both steps and rocker areas are rust free. No rust in the cab other than the floor pans. Front clip is good with some evidence of bondo in one area of the hood. Front inner fender on the driver side has a rust through hole under the battery tray the size of around 2 inches which is an easy fix. Outer fenders are rust free. Thebed has no rust in it. It does have a fifth wheel ball in the center of it. The bed is rolled under in back of the right wheel but it is not creased and would easily straighten. The tailgate is rough but might be useable. One dent on the rear left corner of the bed. All of the gauges and speedometer cluster are nice.
The VIN on the frame rail matches the VIN on the cab tag and also matches on the title. This is NOT a clone.
Odometer shows 92,193 miles. Radio isn't the original one and has been removed and the dash was cut for it. I would just install a modern AM/FM/CD in the opening. There is a blue dash that is nice on Ebay from another vendor that you could swap out if so desired. Heater box is all there and original. Seat upholstery is original and torn up but springs are fine and it slides nicely.
The frame is straight and only has the usual surface rust. NO rot.
Take a look around on the internet....these don't exist anymore. This truck has been in my home town since the 80's. To put things in perspective Chevrolet made 20,302 1969 Z28 Camaros and Ford made around 500 Boss 429 Mustangs in 1970. How many of the 297 made are left? This would be an incredible restomod truck!
Storage is secure and I am fine with storing it for a few weeks until you can transport it.This truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time UNLESS there is a bid on it. If there is a bid it will absolutely sell to the highest bidder.Any questions 9707122738
