Description

Rare 1971 Dodge Charger SUPER BEE,was originally equipped with a 383 magnummotor and automatic trans. This is not a clone or a "tribute" car,it is a genuine Super Bee.This information can be documentedby decoding the vin#.This restorationwas started several years ago and never completed. It started with a very solid car that spent most of its life in dry New Mexico. Many thousands of dollars have been spent too get this far.The bodywork and repaint of the original red color was done quite a few years ago and the car has been stored away indoors and not driven ever since. It is a nice driver quality job with only a few minor flaws. There area few chips here and there from being moved around while in storage.A good polish and detailing would bring it to the next level. .The door jambs, trunk, and engine bay were prepped and repainted also. The body appears to be very solid.Upon close inspection I do see evidence of some bodyfiller in the lower rear quarter panels. The rest of the body panels including the doors, fenders, rockers, hood, decklid, roof, etc appear to have had no rust or rust repairthat I can detect. The floors, front and rear frame rails, trunk pan, and entire undercarriage are in amazing original condition. That is the original factory primer you see on the interior floor pans.I could only find a small pencil sized hole in the drivers floor panand that's it! I have never seen an undercarriage this solid on any car from this era. The fender emblems, hood emblems, decals, and stripes are new.The rear bumper is brand new.The front bumper is original and has lost some ofits shine. The trunk weatherstrip is new.I have brand new door weatherstrips, tailight and marker light lens gaskets, and a rubber body bumper kitstill in the box.The interior is sun baked and needs work such as seat covers, carpet, headliner, etc. The door and side panels front and rearare presentable. All the glass is good and the windows roll up and down nicely. The original motor and trans arelong gone. The original 8 3/4 rear axle is still in the car.I am including a 1973 440 4 barrel big block and a 727 autotrans. This motor and trans were in running conditionwhen pulled from a wreck a few years ago. They have also been stored indoors. The motor still turns freely.I have temporarily installed the motor and trans in the engine bay.I have not connected anything or even bolted themdown. They were only installed for storage purposes and to make transporting the careasier. I would freshen them both up or at the least clean and inspect them beforepermanent installation. There is a nice vintage set of aluminum slot wheels on the car with two brand new tires and two good used tires.I have a small pile of parts that go with the car including doubles of some items but there are things missing like the exhaust manifolds and radiator, etc. This car is still a project, but all the work that has been done will make it much easier to finish and enjoy..I have a clear NJ title.I encourage you to come and see the car if possible. It is being sold AS IS.I have more photos if you need them.PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS AND DO NOT INTEND TO BUYTHE CAR! PLEASEASK ANY QUESTIONS THATYOU FEEL ARE IMPORTANT BEFORE BIDDING!! THESE AUCTIONS DO COST TIME AND MONEY. Thank you and good luck!
