BRIEF HISTORY: This “WC” model 1947 Dodge truck was a childhood favorite of the owner because his father had one. That particular truck got away, but years later a cousin of his father (who had two 1947 Dodge pickups) gave him one, and a modernization/restoration was begun. The frame of a 1990 Dodge Dakota and 1957 Imperial 392 cid Hemi V8 formed the basis of this beautiful restoration.

AWARDS: The truck was shown extensively after its completion, and won many awards - most notably the 2009 Annual “Mopars with Big Daddy” event sponsored by famed dragster Don “Big Daddy” Garlits at his Museum of Drag Racing in Ocala, FL - where it received the People’s Choice Best of Show award. The Garlits-autographed trophy is shown at right and goes with the truck to the new owner. As most enthusiasts know, Don Garlits is legendary as he is considered to be the father of drag racing.

ODOMETER NOTE: The mileage indicated is not the actual mileage of the truck. How many total miles were covered since 1947 is unknown, but the truck was driven approximately 25,000 miles before the GPS-driven odometer was installed 617 miles ago.

IMPORTANT IMAGE NOTES: There are over 100 images, because we want to show you EVERY aspect of this fine classic that we can think of.

LOCATION:Lula, Ga...whichis approx. 60 miles northeast of Atlanta.

EXCELLENT INVESTMENT –Classic MOPAR trucks are highly collectible – especially when they are fitted with iconic Hemi powerplants like the 1957 Imperial motor in this example.

THE FIRST 12 PICTURESwill give you a general overview of this one-of-a-kind 1947 Dodge Hemi-powered pickup. But if you are seriously interested...we suggest that you look at ALL 100+ images because we want you to see EVERYTHING.

QUESTIONS?...after reviewing ALL the images and reading the entire description, please call Jim Murphy if you have any questions: 706-429-7924

OPERATIONAL REPORT:This ’47 Dodge is QUICK! You will get smiles and admiring glances everywhere you go. It’s not for introverts, because everywhere you go, folks will walk up and want to talk about it. Most have never seen a ’47 Dodge truck, and they are fascinated with the cool deco-inspired styling of the era.

During the photo-session all exterior lights were tested and working. All gauges work too…but understand that if you are out of GPS range, the speedometer/odometer cannot function. The original heater also works (there is no A/C). Steering is manual rack & pinion. The windshield wipers were removed for a cleaner look (they were also tiny and not too effective). The Bluetooth Radio and Handsfree phone features work great.

IMPERFECTIONS: After winning numerous awards, the Dodge was used frequently. Both age and use have given the car a “patina”, and we would now classify it as a very enjoyable “driver” vehicle that can be driven with much enjoyment and also shown with pride. The last image set at right shows examples of imperfections that the new owner should expect.

PAYMENT TERMS: A $500 non-refundable deposit via PayPal is due immediately to hold the truck for 3 business days by which time bank to bank wire transfer payment in full is due.

ABOUT ME:I am an avid Classic Car enthusiast. After retiring from 30 years of Sales & Marketing in a Global 100 company, I began buying and selling Classic Cars and Collectibles as a collector and for friends and clients. This classic belongs to a fellow classic vehicle enthusiast.
IMPORTANT DOCUMENT & CONDITION OF SALE REMARKS:Bill of Sale and (clear) Georgia Owner Registration will be provided to the Buyer.

NOTE: The state of Georgia does not require titles for vehicles built before 1986. Therefore, this 1947 Dodge Truck was not issued a title. The Registration document is the legal document of ownership. Every state observes the DMV rules of all other states, therefore this vehicle may be insured, licensed, registered and driven in any state. Whether it is titled depends upon the DMV title rules of your state.

This Vehicle is sold strictly as-shown and on a final as-is basis without any warranties expressed or implied due to age. Even the very best restored classics will require additional maintenance and service - often without warning. Therefore, please expect to continue - as the new owner and caretaker of this classic - to perform additional maintenance and repairs. We hope that you are able to enjoy the ’47 Dodge without the need for an immediate repair - but understand that this indeed could be found necessary. As seasoned collectors know, every time you start (or attempt to start) a classic vehicle is a new experience...it could be a wonderful ride, or a new repair to undertake. That is the nature of the hobby, and this classic should not be purchased if you are not prepared for this reality. We have presented the truck accurately to the best of our ability, but oversights are possible. Therefore -beforethe auction's end - bidders are welcome to examine the vehicle in person if they are the high bidder and/or have met the reserve. All sales are final.

Because this truck is now lightly driven locally - and is untested for recent long trips - we recommend that it be transported to its new locale.

We remind you to be sure to review ALL the images and ALL the captions for this classic - in addition to this description – as they relate important information too!
