Okay, so it is not really a barn find as the car has been in our family since it was new. Our father bought the car brand new in 1963 to go drag racing. As you can see from the pictures the car has been stored for a long time, since 1977, and is in need of a complete overhaul. The good news is that it has less than 10,000 miles, 9750 actually.
The only reason that the car has close to 10,000 miles is that back in the middle '70s my Mom needed a car to drive for one summer so Dad put a 360 small block in place of the Max Wedge and she used his baby until a shopping cart put a ding in it and he took the car back. It currently has the 413/426 installed

Originally 426 Max Wedge stage 1 415 hp but later upgraded to stage 2 425hp
The original 426 block blew in 1964 and was replaced with the 413 bored to 426 that it currently has
Originally 3 speed standard on the floor but converted to automatic in 1964 (floor shift block off plate visible in pics)
8 3/4 Rear end with either 4.56 or 4.89 ratio 742 case. (I can't remember the ratio but I can find out if need be)
The Bad News:The car has been sitting inside for more than 30 years except for one summer when it was parked outside and the summer heat dried out the upholstery so it will have to be replaced. Also, when I checked on the car last month I found that mice got into the headliner and who knows where else.
The transmission (A727 pushbutton) is not installed in the car but is included.
The carburetors are complete but have corroded and the shafts are stuck but I believe they can be rebuilt easily. One air cleaner is missing as is one velocity stack.
Externally the paint is actually in pretty good shape but does have the 30 year barn fade. It is not the original paint, the car was a race car belonging to a 24 year old and changed colors several times although it is an original black car/blue interior. The only rust on the car is what I call surface rust stemming from the various scratches.
The Good News:Both exhaust manifolds are brand new, never installed. My father bought them from Chrysler back in the late '60s as he chucked the originals in the dumpster when he got headers. The same goes for the head pipes with the exhaust cutouts, both are brand new. The head pipes still have the Chrysler part tags on them.
The hood on the car is not the original but I have the original and it is included. Dad cut holes in it for the velocity stacks and installed the scoop used on the aluminum nose cars but it was outlawed by the NHRA because his car is a steel nose car.
There is no structural rust on this car. Period. Just some spots here and there wherever the paint is scratched. If you are from the northeast and old enough to remember, you might know this car. It raced at Winterport Dragway and Sanford Dragway both in Maine, Lebanon Valley NY, Moncton New Brunswick just to name a few. The car was at one time named "The Hustler" and it was white with black lettering at that time. My father's name was Joe Murray so if you knew him you will know the car.
The Reason for SellingDad passed away this past February and we don't have the finances to properly restore this car to its deserved glory nor do we have suitable place to store the car. We really don't want to sell it but we must.
