Description

1986 Dodge Omni GLH-STurbocharged 4-Cylinder#425 of ONLY 500 BuiltUltra-Low 33K milesVery Rare
Are you ready to see a ghost from the past? For sale ismy 1986 Dodge Omni GLH-Shelby with only 33K! This#425 of ONLY 500 ever made, which is becoming harder and harder to find these days. To the collectors out there, this Omni is a one-of-a-kind. The interior is in exceptional condition with no cracking in the dash and the seats are still in pristine form.

Exterior condition is glossy and great condition underneath. Tires have799 miles on them as of listing, with the originalCenturion rims. Powering you to the front is an incredible 175 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque, all made possible by an incredibly efficient turbocharged 2.2 liter, multi-point electronic fuel injected engine. As you rev it up to 5800 rpm, a custom air to air intercooler drops the temperature of air entering the turbocharger by 100 degrees Fahrenheit while forcing more air through the combustion chamber.Delivering this power to the ground and holding it there is why Shelby specified up front stiffer anti-sway bars and fully adjustable Koni “iso-struts” with coil springs that can be manually set up for different driving conditions. In the rear is a semi-independent trailing arm suspension system.

This Omni comes equipped with some excellent features, including: 5-Speed Manual Transmission, Pioneer Two-Way Speaker System, AM-FM Stereo System, Adjustable Cloth Sport Seats, Front Air Dam, Quartz Halogen Headlamps, Air Conditioning, Rear Window Defroster, Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel and Shift Knob, Individual Production Number Mounted on Dash, 15” Shelby Centurion Cast Aluminum Wheels and MUCH more. With the body weight of only 2,300 lbs, you will sure to be put back in your seat. Back when the Omni first came out Carroll Shelby claimed that it would outrun a Ferrari 308. Don’t lose out from the great opportunity on this Omni GLH-S.

Condition wise, this Omni is excellent throughout. The exterior is beautiful, and the finish is bright and shiny. On the inside, the interior condition matches the exterior, with the seats and overall interior in well-kept condition as well, with no wear, no odors or issues, and an overall great feel.

You aren’t going to find another Omni in this condition, miles and price.

I purchased #425 from the original owner, who took delivery at the Whitter Plant on 6 August, 1986.
The car has spent its entire life in southern CA up until I purchased it in May 2014. It is completely original, except for the tires, headlights, and radio (original radio and headlights are included). otherwise as original as the day it left the plant. The car became a weekend driver in the spring of 1990, when the PO's family blossomed and it forced a larger, family oriented car. He loving maintained the car and from 90' to present only put "a couple hundred miles" on the car per year; otherwise it was in a climate controlled garage. Thereare 2modifications to the car, window tint, and a cd player.
Exterior:
Original paint that shines beautifully, graphics are complete and intact with the exception being the passenger ground effect where the pin stripe, about 1/2" is slightly curling up. Again, dry, arid, California, so rust.
Interior:
This is a car that rarely, if ever even had passengers in the car according to the PO. Interior is without tears, stains, rips, etc. Everything is original, even has the set of floor mats. If your looking for a time capsule, this is it! only modifications from stock is a pioneer CD player; the original, working head unit is included.
Suspension:
Wonderfully, stiff and tight. No evidence of broken/wore seals. The Koni's are still a beautiful red/orange with decals in tact
Trunk Area:
This area is free of rips, tears, fading etc. It has one small stain, PO says this was from a wayward bottle of laundry detergent that fell out the dirty clothes on a rousing trip to the laundry mat not a week after purchase. The spare has never been used. PO stated that when I asked him to take photos of the area/tire/spare well prior to my purchase this was the first time he had ever even removed or opened the spare area. (which by the way, looks as fresh as the day it left whitter)
Drive train: Shifts nicely, a nice smooth idle. I took delivery at 31,799 off the enclosed transporter and have put but 1,624 miles on it as of listing.
I have owned several GLH's (5) and GLHS' (#154 and #425) over the years and claim to be a turbo dodge enthusiast, but an imminent family move for a new job to MI, forces me to reduce the toys VERY reluctantly sell. Car is currently in the Tucson, AZ
