This black beauty has undergone a complete transformation! Born as a Dart GT with a 6 cylinder, this Dart was the recipient of a frame off, total restoration and custom build. Out came the 6 cylinder motor and in went a 440, .30 over with Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake with a Biggs 950 carb and Comp Cams Xtreme Energy Hi-Lift XE285HL. A lot of aluminum was employed to lighten and strengthen the drive train. An aluminum radiator with dual fans, an aluminum drive shaft and a custom aluminum gas tank were all added. The transmission is a custom SMR Racing, Sportsman 727 with SMR 3500 stall converter. The rear end was also majorly upgraded, to a Dana 60 with 4:10 gears. The original suspension wasn't going to cut it in this build, so the Dart was mini-tubbed and a Mopar spring relocation kit was installed. Calvert racing suspension with Split-Mono leafs and Calvert shocks handle the business out back. While the front end received a Reilly Motorsport Alterkation kit with tubular upper and lower control arms and QA1 adjustable coilovers. The body and paint on this car is incredible. The body was completely stripped to metal, finding only a 3 inch by 5 inch spot of rust that was cut out and patched correctly with new steel. It was in the front passenger quarter. Every nut, bolt and screw was removed and either replaced with new or refurbished. It was sprayed in a deep black paint and the seats and door panels were recovered in pearl white vinyl, new black carpet, headliner and dash. This car is a multiple award winner, winning Best In Class, twice at The World of Wheels and also a former Muscle Car Shootout winner for the "Best Street-able Performance Car" and a Best Over All ISCA award winner. This car also has run a mid 11 second quarter mile and drives like a dream. You couldn't hope to build this car for what you can buy it for now. Call today!
