1948 Dodge B-1 series Truck
This truck is part of an estate sale.
There are no records for this truck and no Title could be found.
No Title is available
It is located in Clear Brook Virginia 22624
Virginia DMV has no record of this vehicle based on the VIN.I'm glad to help secure a new title in any way I can.
It appears to be a complete original truck, though it was likely repainted at one time. It was stored in a barn for perhaps decades. It was likely in running and very good condition when parked. Unfortunately, the barn collapsed in a wind storm. The truck appears to have suffered no damage from the collapse. The collapsed barn provided shelter for the 90% of the cab. As such, the cab is in good condition. However the wood bed and a portion of the drivers side of the cab was exposed to water running off the roof of the barn. As a result the floor of the wood bed was completely rotted. The frame, tires and differential, seem to have suffered no damage.
The back lower edge of the front fender suffered some rust. some of the paint has peeled off in places on the drivers fender, hood and front grill. However, there is little or no rust, as the peeling occurred after it was pulled out of the barn while it was being cleaned. These spots have been temporarily covered with axle grease to prevent rusting.
It is two-tone with a red body and black fenders
All 6 tires appear to have little wear. After all the years of storage, all tires still had air.
It has a dually rear end, with a flat bed with wooden side panels
Shown in the pictures is the truck as it was pulled from the barn.
The bed was still intact. However, it was not safe for transport. As a result, we dismantled the bed and stacked it on the back.
In addition to the wood bed, we found what appears to be steel sides, as if for an alternate bed. We are including those also.
There has been no attempt to start the vehicle. The engine is not seized.
The gas tank was held by two thin straps which rusted through. As a result the tank was removed and placed on the back. The tank will need to be replaced as it was full of rust.
The mileage is as shown in the picture of the odometer
There was no direct match on Hagerty for this truck. I included the closest match, which actually has a smaller motor.
It is being sold as-is.
We have been unable to find the keys. We have a box full of keys, but none seem to fit. Perhaps we would have better luck if we knew what the keys look like. You are welcome to try the keys at pick-up time.
Included with the truck are three factory Manuals:
. Shop Manual B-1 Dodge Trucks
. Dodge Special Equipment Manual
. Dodge 1948-9 B-1 Series Parts List (issued July 1949)
The truck has been positioned for easy pick-up with Tilt-bed Hauler.
