1958 EDSEL CITATION. TOP OF THE LINE MODEL.
THE EDSEL FAMILY IS AS FOLLOWS:
PACER/ANGER WAS BUILT ON THE FORD CHASSIS, 118" long.CORSAIR/CITATION BUILT ON THE MERCURY CHASSIS, 124" LONG.THE CITATION WAS THE VERY TOP OF THE LINE WITH FEATURES NOT FOUND ON ANY OTHER CAR.
This particular EDSEL was a premium deluxe model that was said to be low production, having been built in Los Angeles, Calif. This car is original in every detail. It has been kept in covered storage all of its life. Nice straight rust free body in primer seal ready for new paint. Original color is Copper and white. There is a dime sized hole in drivers foot well, but otherwise no rust penetration.Windshield has a vertical crack in the middle of the glass, there is also a cracked passenger door window.Car has Power Windows, Power Seats, Power Steering, Power Brakes. Town-Country radio with rear speaker (this is an upgrade from standard radio), Engine tachometer, Tele-Touch Automatic transmission (selector buttons in center of steering wheel)Car starts with external fuel in gas can. Suspect fuel tank needs to cleaned/flushed out. Engine sounds strong with no detectable noises. Tele-Touch transmission shifts thru all of the gears. It does need a car battery for this system to operate.Interior needs carpet and headliner. Seats are original and are in the condition as to be expected for a 60 year old car. BRAKES DO NOT WORK. CAR NEEDS TO BE TRANSPORTED. Pictures of the trunk shows all of the (4) hubcaps, all of the available stainless steel chrome, and the air cleaner. I do not have the hood ornament.EDSEL CITATIONS THAT ARE 2 DOOR HARDTOPS ARE VERY HARD TO FIND AND ARE THE MOST DESIRABLE OF ALL OF THE EDSELS. PROPERLY RESTORED, THIS CAR WILL BE A REAL HEADTURNER.
