Description

1960 Edsel Ranger 4-Door Sedan, in Lilac Metallic, with silver-gray-black interior. 352 V-8 engine with dual exhaust. Automatic transmission with dual power drive (6 position selector lever). Selector positions P (park) R (reverse) N (neutral ) D2 (drive) D1 (drive) L (low) . Radio, heater, full wheel covers, white wall tires, and tinted windows. The correct tires are bias-ply wide white walls, new 2 years ago, and only have about 300 miles on them. I put in a new battery last Fall, and the radiator was replaced with a new one about 1 1/ 2 years ago. Car is insured, registered and on the road. Those Ohio license plates cover up my N.Y. State plates. Car has original paint, interior and even the spare is original to the car. This car only has 17, 383 original miles! Payson Auto Sales was an Edsel dealer and the car was purchased new at that location. The only thing I know it will need is the two rear mufflers are starting to get a bit noisy, they will need to be replaced. Sometimes the one passenger rear door sticks and the passenger door sometime doesn't latch right away, takes a couple of tries. There is a slight carpet wear in the back on one side, and the woman who owned the car wore high heels, and they dug into the carpet on the drivers side in one spot. If you value originality, you will be impressed with this car. There has been no paint work done, anywhere. Its all original paint. Chrome is original too. Its all very nice and quite rare. Buyer is responsible for all transportation from where the car sits now, in Clinton, New York, to wherever you need it shipped. Total payment due 7 days after auction ends. Funds must clear before title and vehicle is released.Inspections done BEFORE the auction ends. The vehicle is sold "as is", "where is", no warranty. Please e-mail questions. You can come see the car by appointment.Had a few questions come in, and I responded:I do know the history of the car . It was purchased by a woman in Utah. She used it until she couldn't drive anymore and it was put in storage for quite awhile. The second owner brought the car to the state of Washingto, drove it for about 1,000 miles and then placed it in a museum. The museum closed and the cars were sold. I bought it from that individual. So I am the 3rd owner. Its registered and titled here in New York State. . Theres no discoloration on the front seat.. What you might be seeing is reflection, or the glitter effect of the little pieces of gold thats woven into the upholstery material. I haven't noticed any leaks. Incidentally, all 1960 Edsel cars were produced in 1959. Production ended on November 19, 1959. Only 2809 1960 Edsels were made. Even 4-door sedan production is extremely low. Something like 1200 units.
