Description

Rosner Motorsports is excited to present the fabulous, fully restored, 1965 Fiat 1500 Cabriolet. Known as one of the most classic sports car shapes, the 1500 Cabriolet was designed and bodied by the iconic Italian design house, Pininfarina. For this reason, its design is often compared to many Ferraris of the era, most often the Ferrari 250 GT California Spider. The car is finished in the striking Rosso Corsa red paint with a red and black interior including recently reupholstered seats and a brand new black cloth top. The car shows immaculately both inside and out. The center console, dash, and wood-rimmed vintage 'Nardi' steering wheel make it is easy to see the connection to the Ferrari 250 GT California Spider. The Fiat 1500 Cabriolet's running gear includes a four-cylinder, 1500-cc engine that produces 83hp fitted with its two-barrel Weber carburetor and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Although small in displacement, this peppy 1500-cc engine provides ample power for this small, light sports car. Extras on this car include Campagnolo alloy wheels, an Abarth exhaust system, Carello amber fog lamps, period Fiat wooden shift knob, and original Mille Miglia badging. Originally delivered to the west coast, the car has spent its entire life in the dry climates of Southern California and Scottsdale, Arizona and shows absolutely no signs of rust. Purchased by the previous owner in 1984, the car underwent a year-long extensive and meticulous restoration. Over the following two-decades the car was shown at a number of well-known concours, including taking first prize in the 2-liter class at the 1994 Huntington Beach Concours and a presentation at the 2004 Concorso Italiano in Monterey, California during Pebble Beach week. Most recently the car has undergone further refinement in 2005 and still shows like new. This is a rare opportunity to own a truly incredible, meticulously restored, show winning example of one of the most classic Italian sports cars ever produced. With its documented West Coast, two-owner history this opportunity will certainly not present itself again.
