1980 Fiat Spider 2000 "Limited Edition" #776

Hello, I have a 1980 Fiat Spider 2000 "Limited Edition" #776. I imported the car to Idaho from So. California 10 years ago with the intention of restoring it. I then bought a 1982 Turbo Spider with 19000 original miles and this car was placed in storage with my other 7 Spiders and has sat ever since. I have decided to sell a few of them and this is one. It has a rebuilt 2 liter with all smog removed. The engine runs excellent and has a new clutch and rear end. The trans was fine so I left it alone. All oils & filters have been changed. The brakes are new as well as the exhaust. I have the smog equipment that could be put back on the car and that can go with it. The interior is the original leather and has extensive wear. The seats work as they should. The top is functional but poor. I have the carpet removed so I could inspect the floors for rust. The windshield has a crack in it at the lower drivers side. It has (2) rust issues. One is at the driver side rear lower fender and the other is on the rear deck lid. If someone buys this car during this auction I will repair the rusted fender section PROPERLY and offer another deck lid that has no rust. This car is a very good candidate for someone who is looking for a limited edition spider. These cars are very rare and desirable to collectors and very few of the original 1,000 made exist today and certainly not in this condition.Based on my research it appears that there may be as many as 150 in the world and this is probably a generous number. I have owned 9 Fiat Spiders of various years and restored and showed some of them around the Country. The only reason for selling this car is I Plan to restore 2 more fiats and this one was not chosen. My personal shop has restored and/or owned over 100 cars and trucks. If somebody has an interest in this car and would like to consider my shop for the restoration we could also discuss that. My show cars and trucks have consistently won awards and trophies for 1st,2nd,3rd, best of show as well as peoples choice awards. I have over 200 digital photos of this car and can email or send them to you on a disc. If I don't have a photo you would like to see?, I can get it for you. I will list this car with just a few of them. Overall the car is in very nice mechanical condition and needs nothing to be driven as it is. I am a Fiat Spider enthusiast and have owned one or more of these cars for the last 30 years. I will be honest about the condition and answer any question(s) you may have.
