Description

This 1966 Mustang is a great runner with many nice features.
The car was originally born blue, but had been changed over to Emberglo and Parchmant many years ago. It originally had a 289, but now sports a very strong upgraded 302 V8 with a Carter 4 barrel, high energy MSD ignition, cast aluminum Edelbrock manifold and cast aluminum Edelbrock finned valve covers. This Mustang has a Cruise-o-matic automatic transmission. This is a nice running car, not some forgotten and unloved barn car. It has a nice sounding true dual exhaust system with welded chrome tips..The rear springs were upgraded at one time to a 5 leaf style..Mileage is unknown, as I have no way of telling what the actual mileage is..
This Mustang is a fun car that you can get in and drive. It starts well with it's automatic choke; hot or cold, and runs great with no stalling, overheating, or smoking. It has manual steering and brakes. The aftermarket AC works, but blows almost warm, probably needs charging. Everything works; wipers, lights, signals, parking brake, AM/FM aftermarket radio, etc..
This car, which has lived in the desert southwest it's entire life, has paint with an excellent desert-faded patina look that draws many admirers at local car shows.Everyone says not to repaint it but to leave as it is. I have replaced the upholstery and foam on both front seats with reproduction original style vinyl and foam from Mustangs Unlimited. The back seat is in great condition, with no damage. The carpet looks like new and probably was a recent replacement before I got the car. The headliner is original, with some cracks and fraying at the edges from age, but still looks good.
I have installed new kick panels with new pony style Emberglo carpet and used pony style trim on them for a nice, classy look. It also has a locking Scott Drake gas cap, new quarter glass seals and door end seals, new door and trunk bumpers, new trunk lid weatherstripping, new glove box liner, new turn signal and backup light lenses, and I am sure some other things as well. All 4 tires are in great shape with lots of tread and matching. It has a good spare tire and jack too.
What does it need??? Not much. The rocker moldings are original and have some screw attachments and scrapes in places. The Emberglo dash pad has some cracks, but I am including the dash cover. The steering wheel is black and has some age cracks. Arm rests are faded but are easily available aftermarket, as is almost everything else on these vintage Mustangs. No body filler I have seen except for a small amount on the wheel opening of the passenger front fender. If you wanted to repaint it, usual body prep; door dings, etc... is to be expected.. But you might love the faded Emberglo look too. It has modern Ford stereo speakers in the rear, with new wiring to the stereo, but no speakers in the front. Dual stereo speakers that fit in the original dash are aftermarket-available everywhere and the radio is already wired for them. As with any unrestored car, expect other imperfections and flaws, not perfection. Please ask any questions now..
Why am I selling it?? Had it for almost a year and really have no use for it, as wife already has a Mustang that we use for our shows here. Someone else should have the chance to use, drive and cruise around in this classic 'stang or to restore it to your taste.
