Description

I have for sale my 1982 Ford Mustang GT. When I bought this car it had been sitting for 7 years. It is an original CA rust free car.So let me start off by saying that the cars paint has its fair share of dents and scratches, If your are looking for a mint low milage car that is perfect then this car is not for you! It in in driver condition, something you can park in the front spot at the grocery store and not have to worry about dents. I took it home and put some gas in the carb and it fired right up. I have done a lot of work to the car but I have found another vehicle I want to purchase so this one has to go. The car runs decent, it has a hard start, hard crank issue. I believe the flywheel may have a few bad teeth. The car still sports its original 302 w/4 speed transmission. The clutch seems to be alright, I really haven't driven it all that much. The engine will need a tune up from sitting so long but the carb seems to work pretty good. The previous owner said that they rebuilt the motor but I have no proof of that. The water pump and gaskets look to be new except the intake gasket seems to be leaking a little.New LMR A/C delete bracket and the heater core was bypassed because the previous owner took out some of the heater components. I do have them and will go with the car. The car still has its original exhaust besides a magnaflow muffler. I did an oil change when I bought the car and maybe only put 20 miles or so on the car since then. I really haven't drove the car so I do not know how it would do on the freeway or anything above 45mph.
I have updated the suspension to newer 5 lug brake setup. It has a 3.27 gear 8.8 rearend with fresh fluids that came out of an automatic 95 gt, I did install 28 spline fox length axles. I put all new break hoses and lines on the car when I did the swap. The rotors and pads are also new on all 4 corners. It has new shocks and struts all the way around. It is lowered on eibach springs I believe but not 100% sure. I also installed an 87-93 5.0 long body brake line so you will have no issues coverting it to dual exhaust. Car has a working e-brake using LMR brake cables. I used 87-93 5.0 sway bars and new prothane sway bar endlinks and bushings. I used 94-95 model front spindles with 99-04 dual piston pbr front calipers. New master cylinder and 87-93 power brake booster. The rack and pinion leaks a little bit, and I would suggest doing a bump steer kit.It also needs an alignment. The tires do rub at full lock, and over big bumps sometimes.
The interior is mostly original and shows very well. I did a new KEYS racing suede steering wheel with a grant hub and forever sharp 3 to 6 bolt steering adaptor. I also installed black cloth sn95 gt front seatsthe original seat tracksbecause the old ones were ripped in the center and the foam was falling apart, as you can tell from the rear seat the fronts were toast. The rear seat is not in the best of shape and the rear carpet needs replaced. The car has new ford tooling door to body weather stripping and hatch weather stripping as well. I would replace the rest of it as it seems the CA sun has taken its toll on it. The car still has the premium radio and amp and they still work, speakers need replaced. New headliner but haven't installed the original sun visors but they will come with the car.New floor mats and the original carpet isn't in bad shape either. The dash pad has been re'dyed because it is out of a different car. New igniton switch as well. The hatch needs some adjustment as its a little hard to close sometimes.
The exterior of the vehicle definitely shows its age. It has its fare share of dents and scratches, I replaced the 2 front fenders off a newer black gt when I bought the car because someone had run into the passenger fender while the car was sitting still and the driver had a big dent in the main body line, I have pictures if you would like to see them, they also have two little holes being off a newer car for the ground effects on each side. I installed a new cowl vent grille and cowl seal, and had safelight put a new windshield in as well. I installed new 5.0 emblems and a set of used GT40 Replica wheels, the front tires are in decent shape, the rears not so much and will need replaced somewhat soon. The wheels have a little rash and the clear on the lip of driver side rear is peeling a little bit, not very noticeable. They are driver quality wheels. I will includea set ofnew lugnuts with the car becuase the old ones kind of messed up the threads just a little on the old studs or they possibly could have already been messed up because they were used. The bumpers are quite faded and will need repainted, 1 foglight is broken but still there, the passenger side rear has a crack in the taillight. Other than that the exterior is all original, besides a little trim paint here and there.
I have tried to be as descriptive as I can with the car and what needs replaced on the car, so let me know if you have any questions I will try my best to answer them. I do have the car listed forsale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. Buyer is responsible for pickup but I will be happy to assist in any way I can. There will be a non refundable deposit of $200.00 USD due within 48hrs after the auction is completed. Happy bidding and good luck!
