We have up for auction is a very rare 1959 ford Fairlane 500, two door hardtop. This car is practically rust free with the exception of some minor surface rust. The interior has been changed out from a later model Ford LTD. It has been modified to fit this car beautifully. Door panels have been modified to fit properly, and everything looks factory original. This car has the later model Ford 351 Cleveland engine and transmission. The engine fires right up and idles beautifully with a new rebuilt carburetor. All chrome is with this car, what you see in the pictures that is missing is in the trunk. We also have the factory original rear fender skirts in the trunk with it. This car is still in the project stage as it needs the exhaust reattached at the headers, driveshaft is in the trunk, but needs to be extended approximately 6 inches because the new transmission is shorter than the old 59 ford transmission everything about this car shouts "classic style" The rear of the car has been lowered approximately 6 inches with lowering blocks on the rear spring shackles. They can easily be removed if you would like the car to have its original stance. The engine does not smoke or have any lifter noise. It is a very smooth running engine. This project was started by someone other than our shop, it is a trade that we took you on another car. I believe the gentleman just bit off more than he could chew and did not have the patience to do the small detail. The car comes with a clean title and fair tires. The original 292 V8 have been discarded and we do not have access to it. I do not believe there are any major parts of any sort needed for someone to complete the car.
