This is a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302, equipped with a "W" Code 4.30 rear gear. Commonly referred to as "Super Drag Package" car just the same as the 428 SCJ Mustangs, though the term never showed up in the sales literature for the Boss 302. Even though Boss 302's were not technically offered with this option, ordering the "W" code rear axle ratio earned the rest of the kit, auxiliary oil coolers and Traction-Loc rear-end included.
This is important of course because only a scant few of the 7,014 Boss 302 Mustangs sold in 1970 were equipped with such a serious option, only 7 in Medium Blue Metallic, and this is the only one so generously equipped. The original owner threw the entire order book at this pony.
This '70 Boss 302 was built on November 20, 1969 and sold new at North Brothers Ford of Westland, MI for an original MSRP of $4,523.45. She was concours rotisserie restored in 2010 and then taken onto the show circuit where she earn two National Concours Gold trophies. More than just a show pony, she has also been shaken down and is turn-key road ready. If you want the ultimate Boss 302 that is a champion on the show field and the drag strip, then, look no further.
