Description

Hello all and welcome to my auction. Looking for a summer project, then for your consideration my 1966 mustang.
Engine: 289 4bl V8, Quick fuel QfT Slayer carb
Transmission: 4 Speed manual
This car will need some work done to get safe to drive but could use a complete tear down and rebuild. Some time in its past it was changed to a V8 and the necessary conversion was done. The body is in good shape with the usual surface rust on the undercarriage. The hood had a dent in it from something sticking up from the engine bay and the hood being pushed down on it. There are some fit problems with the doors, hood, trunk and rear quarter panel, i believe they just need to be readjusted. This car has three layers of paint on it, the original color, yellow and then the final back. The black is coming off in some place showing yellow. The worst is a small gash behind the quarter window. I ran a magnet all over the body and did not find any non or low magnetic spots. The car will need need new brake lines as there is a hole some where, and the drum brakes will need looked at as they pull to the right when braking. All weather stripping will need to be replaced as they are dried out, a complete kit is included with the car. Tires are new with only about 700 miles on them.
The engine will need to be rebuilt. i took it to my mechanic and they said one of the cylinder has low compression, in the twenty's. The car starts and runs fine but requires a lot of rpms to get moving in first gear, Mechanic thought is was because of the low compression. There is a rust hole under the battery, the front inner fender apron with need to be replaced.
The interior is in ok shape. The seats are worn but usable. The carpet will need to be replaced, there are no holes but both drive and passenger side floor pans have rust: i believe the cowl has rusted through; and the carpet has water damage. Because of the weather stripping problem both door have rust from water in them and all window mechanics will need to be replaced. The windows can be pushed down by hand, i got window regulators for both sides that are in included. All widows roll up and down with no problems. When i bought the car, but before i received it, the owner lost the keys. He replaced the ignition switch and bought door locks but did not put them in. He did not fix the trunk lock so i had to drill it out. As all the lock would have use different keys, three of them, i bought a kit and replace the ignition and trunk so you only have to use two keys. The locks for the doors are included but not installed.
All the gauges work but i don't know how accurate they are. All electrical problems I'm about the mention might be because of wiring or switches. The head lights don't come on, the wipers work but the wiper fluid motor does not work. When i got the car the turn signals were missing so installed new ones. I bought and installed a new headlamp wiring harness and washer reservoir/ washer hose kit. The heater works but has a weak blower and one of the levers is stuck. The radio turns on but has no antenna, the cd player had no power.
Included with the car are some parts:
Interior/exterior trim screw kit
Head light bucket repair kit
A box of mustang vintage parts, a random assortment of small parts.
New wiper blades, both sides
New glove box liner.
New fuse kit
Car cover
Antenna
The car has security lug nuts, the key is included along with a new set of lugs as you just can replace the key.
Generic jack and lug nut wrench.
