Description

I have to many cars and really need to thin the herd. I have two 70 Torino's so that is why this car is for sale. I really hate to let this one go. This car is a San Jose, CA built car that was sold new in Palo Alto, CA. and then it when to Washington State and then to Oregon and was bought and driven to Florida. I bought it out of Florida. The car has been a WestCoast most of it's life. They did not make to many N code 429 GT's in 70'.

The car is very original and has not been messed with. You can check out the pictures and see how nice this car is. After I bought the car I had is painted it's original yellow but I changed the stripe from brown to red because I liked the combination better. I only painted it because it had some nicks and scratches in it, it did not require a lot of work. It was to nice of a car to try and blend the paint in. The wheel well moulding was missing so I order reproduction moulding and installed them. The bumpers are really nice. It has working hide away headlights with a very nice hide away grill and headlight doors. I had all the vacuum lines replaced for the headlights and they stay down for weeks before they will bleed open. The car did not come with the rear louvers originally but somewhere along the line on of the owners install a very nice pair of louvers. They are not all bend up or have cracks and it makes the car stand out. The car is rolling on Magnum 500 rims. The only thing the car needs is a set of tires. The tires on it are old and I just have not had the time to get a set installed. I really have not drove the car that much but thatis on my list.

The interior is really nice. Ginger interior was always my favorite for the Torino and Cougar's and this one really goes with the car's color combination. The door panels, package tray, carpet and dash is super nice. One of the owners had the seat inserts replaced with cloth that color matches the interior and it looks factory. The speedometer len and trim is super nice for not being redone. Knobs still look above average for there age. It is obvious that the car has been garaged most of its life.

The motor and transmission have been rebuilt and the car starts at the turn of the key and purrs like a kitten. The car is an excellent cruising car with the 3:00 rearend, it will roll 70 mph all day.The engine compartment is very original. It still has its original exhaust manifolds, L bracket for the battery hold down, air breather is very nice shape. I installed new factory reproduction heater hoses, radiator hoses and factory clamps. The chrome valve covers was on the car when I bought it and I was going to change them but sort of like the look like it would have been years ago. This is a very nice, close to original, well kept 70' Torino GT. Like I said before I really hate to part with this car but I do need the room and I have a 70 Mercury Spoiler on another auction that is running the same time so take a look and Thank You for stopping in. Questions just ask and Good Luck.
