Description

1969 Ranchero Rio Grande “Special PerformanceVehicle ”1 of 47 with A/C painted in Calypso Coral.

I am selling my 1969 Ranchero Rio Grande “Special Performance Vehicle” with numbers matching 351W engine andnumbers matchingFMXCruise-O-MaticTransmission.Unfortunately I am moving and the car must go.

This Rancherolimited productionRio Grandewasoriginally sold by Norman Ford Sales in Pomona California and spent its life on Southern California until I purchased it and moved it to Las Vegas years ago. The Ranchero Is in very good condition and has had the engine and Transmission rebuilt. It hasnew brakes, new carpet, headlinerand many other countless pieces. This Ranchero is completely rust free and has been repainted the original color of Calypso Coral withitsRaven black factory hood stripe. This Ranchero truly stands out when you combine the newpaint, together withthe recently polished stainless steel trim, newMagnum 500 wheels,New BF Goodrich tiresand the rumble of the 351 thoughitsnew exhaust.

As you can see in the MARTI report the Ranchero Rio Grande was a limited production car and the report shows only211 were painted Calypso Coral, only 47 had air conditioningand this was ordered without the vinyl roof making it even more rare. If you are unfamiliar with the history of the Ranchero Rio Grande this is an excerptfrom theWIkipage:

A little-known and extremely rare offering in 1969 was the Rio Grande. Available on special order, this was essentially a GT in the so-called "Grabber" colors of "Wimbledon White", "Poppy Red" or "Calypso Coral", partially blacked-out hood with scoop, side stripes, bed rails, vinyl top, and unique "Ford Ranchero Rio Grande" wheel centers. As a result, Rancheros so equipped received Ford's "Special Performance Vehicle" identification on the data plate regardless of engine choice. These vehicles may be identified by the aforementioned designation, as well as a blank space where the trim code would normally be found. Production figures are unclear, but may have been around 900 total units.

Although this has been a great car it was not planned as a proper restoration, it hasa hand full of small things such asan upgraded wooden Shelby style steering wheel, aluminum radiator among other little thingsthat are not 100% original. And there are a few things I have not yet completed yet. The Air conditioning compressor and hoses have not been reassembled and converted to the new refrigerant, the windshield wiper switch needs to be replaced and I could not decide on what kind ofstereoI wantedso there is not one installed.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will respond as quickly as I can.

Thank you and good bidding,

Jason
