1936 ford 5 window coupe hot rod survivor Kustom rat rod scta roadster 32 33 34
Description
Not for the faint hearted... This is a 1936 Ford 5 window coupe, a REAL hotrod, not some snuggly plushy street rod, this car is the real deal. It's a true homage to cars built in the 50s. It's loud, angry, noisy, it does burn outs, gets more attention than anything else on the road and most importantly it is rock solid reliable and ready to be enjoyed and babied, or abused. It's up to you!
The body and frame are Original 36 Ford steel. The car is very solid, especially when compared to the garbage for sale out there. It is a true survivor with no bondo on it, no repaints, it has nothing to hide. You can even see some old lead work on the car which just adds to its appeal. Cars like this do not exist anymore out there. Yeh it has some rust holes, notice behind the doors, but that's about the worst of it. Front fenders are very nice, rears are ok in most places and rough in others but they are there and look decent. Floors are nice. Doors are also very nice, shut cleanly. Firewall is pristine. Car is very straight down the sides. The body has traces of the original paint all over it and the deck lid has lots too. Grille and hood are pretty nice, fit well too. Cowl vent works, front windshield opens and closes and yes this car has glass in it! Not just a windshield either, it has ALL the glass. Inside, all the window garnish moldings are there and in good shape. The roof insert has been filled with a Walden Speed shop insert. Again, car is hiding nothing, what you see is original steel. This car was put together the right way, by a real shop with real tools and not with a torch and crescent wrenches... This is also not a new build. This car has been together and consistently on the road since 2008. Some of you may know the car. It has proven itself as a reliable hot rod and it has been refined since its original construction.
The car is all 12 volt, has a sweet running 283 chevy small block, milage unknown but it has never let me down and I have been all over California in this car. Trans is a built turbo 400, and it shifts perfectly. Rear end is Ford 9 inch. Lots of great parts on this car, the build invoices and paperwork have all the specifics. Just installed new custom made aluminum radiator. This car stays cool, has electric fan set up on thermostat. It runs cool and has never gotten hot on me! Up front it has a dropped axle, reverse eye spring, disc brakes and OG 1940 ford 16x4 front rims with NEW firestone bias ply tires. Out back its drum brakes with OG 1940 ford 16x4.5 rims with NEW Firestone bias ply fat tires. This car has the perfect stance. All rims were stripped and powder coated gloss black, then fitted with new caps and rings. There is a new gas tank out back so no debris to deal with. Vintage style glass pack exhaust sounds killer, nothing barks like this car. It will happily cruise all day at 65 on the freeway or get you there in a hurry, way above the speed limit...
Inside the original dash is painted gloss black, all the trim is there, ashtray too! Glove box has been relined inside. Gauges are Stewart Warners that all work. Column is a Ford with steering lock set up and push button starter. 1941 Ford steering wheel and horn ring look great with nice patina to match the car. Seat is original 36 with 60s recover on it. I dig it as is, but you can do what you like. The entire inside of the body has been coated in POR15 so rust will not ever be an issue. Its nice inside there.
I have driven this car all over, it was my daily driver for half a year and it never let me down. There are very few cars left out there like this and those that are out there rarely hit the open market. This is truly a car you can jump in and enjoy as is, or take it to the next level if thats your thing. I have pretty much all the paperwork for the build on this car. I have photos of the car as found before the build which is a nice extra for the next owner to have. Those things will go to the winner. Yes, I have a clear CA title to the car and yes its currently registered and insured. The 1936 CA plates will stay on the car if it stays in CA, otherwise they stay with me. International bidders are welcomed but check with me before bidding!
NO I am not interested in trades, I will not tell you what the reserve is, and yes I am open to offers but lets be clear, this is not a rat rod, not a homebuilt junker and it's not comparable to anything currently on the market, so be serious.
