1969 Mach 1 S code
Description
April 1st 1968 Ford introduced the 428cj and this marked the beginning of the end for the 390 in Mustangs. In 69 Ford actually produced more 428's than the 390. So here we have a 69 S code Mach 1. The Marti report says it is one of 881 from the factory Jade Green, 4 speed, 390. This car was originally sold and still is in PA. After spending some time on the local drag strips in the early 80"s it was stored inside for over 30 years which explains the absence of the major rot found in most NE cars. It does not have the original 390, but does has a period correct 390 that has been recently rebuilt. Matched to the motor is the correct toploader close ratio 4 speed with correct hurst shifter/ The transmission is in good working order. This car has a solid frame, original torque boxes. The floor has been patched as it turns upward to meet the firewall, but other than that, solid rust free originals. The sheet metal appears to be original, except the hood and front valance. The rear wheelhousings are solid as well as the original outer wheel wells, The driver lower rear quarter has a patch panel with trunk drop pan, passenger side is a solid original. The doors has been patched at the normal spot on the lower corner, but solid underneath. Major components missing are: drive shaft, carb, radiator, clutch and flywheel. This car has a clear PA title in my name. I do not own a bodyshop, not a mechanic and do not sell mustangs for a living, just someone who loves 1st generation mustangs.
