Description

Very straight and clean 1971 Ford F250 Camper Special pickup. Amazing condition both inside and out. Original paint except for hood and top of front fenders. Never any wrecks or body damage, with the exception of a small crease on the lower passenger bedside in front of the rear wheel (shown in separate photo). The body is completely rust free (no rot or rust through anywhere). There was a topper on the truck for most of its life, so the bed is in great condition as well. Mileage shows 30,736 miles. I am unsure if those are actual or if the odometer has turned over once.
This truck is the factory Camper Special, 3/4 ton with the Explorer package. It has three fuel tanks, which all work. This truck has the highest optioned Explorer Package D as listed below:
Explorer Package A consisted of the following items:
  • Medium Blue, Lime Gold or Saddle Tan metallic paint
  • special random-striped cloth seat trim in unique sew-style (Blue, Green or Ginger)
  • full foam seat
  • chrome front bumper guards
  • bright driprail moldings
  • bright hubcaps
  • Explorer glovebox ornamentation

Explorer Package B consisted of the items in Package A, plus the following:

  • bright box rails (F-100 LWB only)
  • bright spear moldings
  • swing-lock mirrors
  • mag-style wheel covers (on F-100 only)

Explorer Package C consisted of the items of Packages A and B, plus the following:

  • Cruiseomatic automatic transmission

Explorer Package D consisted of the items of Packages A, B and C, plus the following:

  • air conditioning
  • tinted glass
Truck has the factory 360 big block, power steering, power brakes (front discs/rear drums) with automatic transmission. Air conditioning works but needs recharged. Brake booster needs replaced and I have one on order. It will either be on the truck or included with the truck when sold. Truck runs and drives excellent. Does not smoke and has excellent compression in all cylinders. Truck has a small oil leak which leaves a spot of oil when left overnight. Automatic transmission shifts great and works just like it should.
Interior is excellent with exception of cracks in dash, which is very common on these trucks. Comes with dash cover in a tan color that matches the seats. Bench seat is factory but has been recovered with a non-original velour material. Padding and springs are great. Floor mat is in excellent original condition. All gauges and lights work, to include the original am radio. The doors and dash have never been cut for speakers.
Truck also comes with two additional factory steel wheels and an extra set of factory trailering mirrors, which are a bit wider than the ones on the truck.
This is a rare opportunity to own a super straight, and mostly original Ford truck. You will be proud to own it. Most F250's were used as work trucks and it is getting hard to find one that has been cared for and maintained to this extent.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or to set up an inspection prior to end of auction in Fresno, CA.
Please ensure you are prepared to pay for and pick up the vehicle if you are the winning bidder. A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours after end of auction. Buyer must arrange own shipping if you plan to transport. Truck is sold as-is with no warranty. I have tried to provide a very honest and complete description, but feel free to have the vehicle inspected prior to end of auction. Vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to the end the auction early if it is no longer available.
This is a no-reserve auction, so the highest bidder will win. Good luck on winning this awesome truck! I think you will be very happy to own such a nice example of American steel.
